Wobble 1 Posted January 11, 2002 any medium capacity Helo is great... something that could carry a jeep or hummer would be GREAT! but large troop choppers are kinda usless seeing as how ya can only control 11 troops (aside from yerself) as for planes... the limited viewdistance makes them kinda suck because of their speed.. by the time the enemy comes into view your past them.. bluelaser 0 Posted January 11, 2002 The AH1 is incredible if you ask me. Nice and skinny its a fast and very powerful little chopper. I take it up and usually rack up the kills. It has a decent load out with the TOWs to take out tanks, and FFARs for buildings and unarmored vehicles. The 30mm is good for cleaning up. Also the narrow profile has made it harder to shoot down. Easy to fly also.
Supah 0 Posted January 11, 2002 I like the OH-58 ..... i can spend hours flying through a village at 3 feet .... god i love autohover
R. Gerschwarzenge 0 Posted January 11, 2002 I like the Hind very very much.
jimz0rz 0 Posted January 11, 2002 I'm tempted to say the Hind, but I dident. Yes ok, the Hind is a very well armed chopper, it's well armoured, and flys reasonably well. HOWEVER.. in terms of real life spec the AH-64 would be the best due to it's superoir weaponry, advanced avoinics and targeting systems - which arn't eveident in OFP. But if we are to compare the Mi-24 and AH-64 in OFP, then they emerge in roughly the same grounds. So, I voted for the AH-64 becuase of it's REAL LIFE atributes. Rogue2020 0 Posted January 11, 2002 What I like about that fat Russian chopper with like 150 rockets is you can glide across the sky without the thing wobbling at all.....but I voted for the OH58....
Gorgi Knootewoot 0 Posted January 11, 2002 I like the cessna. In v1.0 of the game, i was the pilot and ejected. Other players in the cessna could not eject. Now with v1.4 they can also eject when the pilot is gone. I like the apache best, because,...... Well, i like it the most

Now with v1.4 they can also eject when the pilot is gone.<span id='postcolor'> It was like that in many, if not all, aircraft in version 1.00. I don't know when it was fixed, maybe 1.4. I like the Apache. It looks good, it sounds good and it has good weapons. I think the armor is not as good as Cobra's, but it's easier to manouver. The planes are difficult to fly to me... They are just fast. With choppers you can hide behind woods, you can circle around a town and so on.
christophercles 0 Posted January 11, 2002 I love the uh-60 both variants. Its an irrational love, but i like it. I also like the kiowa, because its so manuvurable (cant sp3ll). I love taking the helicopters into downward spirals and crashing them.
Dr Jekyll 0 Posted January 11, 2002 The UH60-MG, running downhill to cap the flag with your squad and then waiting for the chopper to pick you up while providing cover with it's MG is something to behold... I really would like the Osprey though, that thing kicks every other transport chopper's ass.
R. Gerschwarzenge 0 Posted January 11, 2002 You just have to wish that they release the Osprey model as an add-on when the VBS is ready.
Dr Jekyll 0 Posted January 11, 2002 I hope, I wish, I pray, I beg, I cry for that BIS releases that very model.
christophercles 0 Posted January 11, 2002 The osprey isnt even finished yet, they cant put it in. Plus, it wouldnt fit into the timeline. What id like to see, is a mil-6, or a 26.
Damage Inc 0 Posted January 11, 2002 I like the Cessna but I think I'll vote for the Apache.

christophercles 0 Posted January 11, 2002 Have you noticed that none of the units that they have included in the patches have broken the timeline either? So why would they make an exception for the osprey?
Damage Inc 0 Posted January 11, 2002 The Apache wasn't around in 1985.

Damage Inc 0 Posted January 11, 2002 But 309 is not much and I doubt it that they would use them in an insignificant island conflict.
Satchel 0 Posted January 11, 2002 But 309 is not much and I doubt it that they would use them in an insignificant island conflict. Not much, he? 827 AH-64 had been build till 1998. The bulk of AH-64 had been build 1984 through 1987, highest output in 1985. That´s 37,36% in ´85 of the total build till ´98.
Damage Inc 0 Posted January 11, 2002 Well I still doubt they'd use a helicopter that was still practically just out of prototype phase.
Satchel 0 Posted January 11, 2002 If something leaves the protype and preproduction phase it´s ready to be fielded, why do you think they build the AH-64 in 1985 by the hundreds..... Let me put it simple, when a new geforce card hits the stores, it hasn´t been around for years, but it´s still ready to perform.
