MOD Ifantería de Marina espańola

Hi! Maybe some of you (specially spanish OFP users) could remember that one year ago I was working in a pack of the spanish 4x4 vehicle URO Vamtac (mainly due to the total lack of spanish addons for OFP) I stopped it due to the lack of time and O2 knowledge.

But now i´m back with a new idea: a MOD about the spanish marine infantry (Infantería de Marina) the oldest marine infantry in the world (created in 1537 by the King Carlos I)

My idea is to create the units in active service in the corps:

* M-60A3TTS

* PIRANHA IIIC 8X8

* AAV7

* HUMVEES (all new versions)

* M-109A5E

* Marines

* Other units in active service (like trucks or any other stuff)

And now the recruiting part

I´m a modeler/texturer (3d Studio) but like I said before I don´t know nothing about o2 neither any other OFP editing program.

So to make this MOD works I need scripters, o2 users, modelers, texturers...

I supose that only spaniards will be interested in this MOD, so if you´re spanish and you do like this idea, please contact me via PM.

This afternoon I started to work in the Piranha and here you can see a render:

Together we can make some ass kicking spanish addons. If I don´t recieve help I will not be able to do it, and this MOD will vanish out...

why make new humvee's if you could safe alot of time editing great existing ones?

Because I want to make them from scratch. I don´t like and I will not to use previously releseased addons from others. I can model fast enough to make them from scratch without wasting much time.

spain has a army  only kidding Its one of those countrys ive heard very little about armed forces wise.

as for the hummv's im starting to get the feeling there going to end up like M4's where just about every addon maker makes one

i like the apc mate hopefully thatll turn out nice should make a nice change from the lavs

Yep we have a professional army with heavy tanks like Leopard 2A4 and Leopard 2A5 improved version, we have the lastest M60 tank version; the Super-Paton. we have vehicles like the US Bradley called Pizarro, we have Centauro 8x8 cavalry vehicles, we have made our own version of the humvee, improving its limitations, called URO Vamtac,we have the ultimate Mowag APC, the Piranha IIIC (the US Striker is based on this version) we have F-18s, Eurofighter 2000s, Mirage F-1s, RF-4s, C-130s.We have Tigre combat helicopters, Puma, Super Puma and Cougar transport helicopters, UH-1H Hueys, SH-60 Seahawks, Augusta-Bell 109s, we have special forces, we have marines, we have one of the most important acrobatic air team in the world (Patrulla águila or eagle patrol)

So yes, we can say we have an army

About the humvees: well right now there are only TWO good packs of humvees but none of them have the weapons configurations used by the spanish marines and many versions used by them have not been done by any other OFP addon maker. (shelter carrier for example or an armament carrier fitted with the german MG or the spanish 40mm automatic grenade launcher instead of the US MK-19...)

So at the end it´s not like the M-4s, beacuse there are more of them than humvees...

Now let´s see if someone wants to join my mod.

Well number of us we're already working on Spanish mil hummves troops and equipment Including the models of the special modfication of the Spanish military built under contract hmmwvs evidently just you forgot or too fixated to care. Progress is churing away, we just stopped making public mention because its annoying to answer the same damn questions 20 times over because people too lazy to read the rest of the posts. The time can be better spent on addon construction..

I´ve heard something about it.

Anyway my goal is to concentrate the efforts in making not generic spanish addons but marine infantry ones.

So all what I want are memebers ready to work in my MOD.

I'm glad to heard this. I was looking at some of the Spanish army sites yesterday, I was in service in 1990, no profesionally, only doing my national service, and I know that things have changed alot.

While I was on holidays last july, I was watching a program in a Spanish TV channel about the Spanish paras, and I have to say that I was really shoked and surprissed with what I seen.

I been experimenting with texturing, nothing major, I just wanted to create a cuple of retextured addons for a campaign and SP missions that I been working on. But I think that if I have the right motivation I may be able to do something decent from scrach.

If you like, let me have a simple model to try it to texture it and see where we can get from there.

I don't have a clue about O2, and because of real life, I can be very unrreliable at times, so no promisses.

I done my national service in Huesca, in the mountaniers ( Brigada de Alta Montańa) and I would love to see this kind of things represented aswell, but never mind, for that it should have to be a full mode like FDF, and by the look of Spanish members replies such a project could take a few years or never get finished.

Anyway, I'll pm you my contact details if you like and we see from there.

Where did you got that kind of info? Think about it; finland dropped in WWII over 1000 enemy planes, as own losses we're 168, if I remember right. And we still make a really good education for pilots.
