Mister Frag 0 Posted August 25, 2004 Did you see other people's system running OFP and looking better, or are you talking about screenshots that were posted? The screenshots are often heavily edited, and benefit from config modifications that change visual effects such as explosions and smoke.
sanctuary 19 Posted August 25, 2004 AceCombat made a very good explanation on opflashpoint.org about how having OFP look great without making your system exploding. On your Flashpoint.cfg settings , you should lower the LOD=7.500000; Â to LOD="0.005000"; this way in the distance , there will be a lot more polygons for far away objects. The "Textures Drop Down" setting should be set to 0 , if you want more quality (as 8 should be used only on lower systems like mine ) And do not forget to put in the OFP video options the minimum framerate and the maximum quality. If you have an nvidia based card (i don't know if a similar setting exist on ati) , you should put Digital Vibrance to Low or Medium (by default it is disabled) to have the colours more beautifull. And as Mister Frag said, do not use the photography thread as a barometer on how look OFP on other people systems, as there is some photoshop-like work. McWolf 0 Posted November 11, 2004 You computer can run OFP fine. add another 512M ram. Try use default auto setting. change texture size to 1024x1024,there are no default objects with bigger texture than 1024x1024, even most of Mod, so larger will be useless for your pc. distance set 1200-1400. In OFP your view distance will improve your graphic!! Nivida driver, try the latest on 66.93, it's really great for OFP. the best IQ and performance. see mine Product="Resistance"; Language="English"; HW_Type="Direct3D HW T&L"; Adapter=0; 3D_Performance="6000"; CPU_Benchmark=6000; Resolution_W="1024"; Resolution_H="768"; Resolution_Bpp="32"; LOD=7.500000; Limit_LOD=0.019000; Shadows_LOD=0.050000; MaxObjects=256; Cockpit_Textures=1024; Landscape_Textures=1024; Object_Textures=1024; Animated_Textures=64; Textures_Drop_Down=4; Texture_Heap="16"; File_Heap="16"; Total_Memory="1024"; MaxLights=32; Light_Explo=1; Light_Missile=1; Light_Static=1; Frame_Rate_Pref=500; Quality_Pref=500; refresh=85;
