Hi Djukel!

Luckily I have all FDF versions. Can you tell me why should I use 1.1 or 1.2 instead of 1.3?

I would like to use this satellite in other missions too. It is possible somehow or I just forget it?

Unfortunately satellite is not an addon. Besides of independent scripts files, it makes lot commandlines in description.ext file which must be copied to every mission if you want to use it. Much more easy to put satellite script into a new mission than editing an old one. I you not insist on my satellite please search Blanco or Vectorbosson satellite script in Mission editing$scripting topic. Faster you can learn it how it works if you test one of it.

Ok. I copied all folders from sat&map.zip to my sample mission folder and copied description file. It is right? How can I start satelite? I don't see useraction command. sad_o.gif

Version 1.1 and 1.2 "less finnish" and easier to copy, version 1.3 is nicer but cities is more "finnish" and a little complicated to copy all files. Otherwise nothing special. smile_o.gif

Village Idiot! I advise you to check Blanco or Vectorbosson script I mentioned before. wink_o.gif

Instant Battle MOD v1.00

and template mission

Short description:

There are two (West,East) prebuilt Bases on the battlefield and other structures - Heliport,

Supply depot, Prison camp, Headquaters - a little far from it.

Every side have 11 groups.

- 3 fighting (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie) groups

- 5 guarding (Base, Supply depot, Heliport, Prison camp, Headquaters) groups

- 1 specops (Commando) group

- 2 support (CAS, Mortar) groups

Besides of your army and skill there are some randomized events - you can take part in it, see below - to influence

the outcome of battle. Reinforcement available every 2-4 minutes. Until enemy units standing nearby the base (150 m)

reinforcement not available. Group can get reinforcement if consist of 1 man at least.

Outnumbered group can not be reinforced. They will be arrives again from home territory about 30-40 minutes.

Surrendered group can not be reinforced until you release them from enemy prison camp.

Reinforcement automatically repairs weapons (like M2 machineguns or Mortars) on the base.

There are three kind of resources, fuel, ammo, and building material.

Every new vehicle requires fuel and ammo. Dammaged building needs Building material to repair.

If one of the Resources decreases below 25%, must be go to nearest supply depot to supply it.

If you have no ammo or fuel reserves, new vehicles come without it until supply convoy will arrives.

Every buildings can be attacked by enemy. Damaged building automatically repairing if there is

enough Building material. Destroyed building also can be repaired, but it takes more time.

Destroyed building not working of course. For example if Factory is destroyed you won't get

vehicle reinforcement.

Assault HeadQuaters: Make an attempt on general stuff to cause disorder among enemies

- Scrolltext for description of Commando missions

- "KIA", "MIA" sign next to groupname on report, depends on

group Killed In Action (outnumbered) or Missing In Action (surrendered)

- New useractions

"Hijack a vehicle" : You can try to stop any vehicle without fight.

Only available on home/enemy territory

"Release a prisoner" : You can set free prisoners in prison camp.

tested the new version but it doesnt work for me.

started with modfolder @gmr and then tried to play the included mission.

mission loaded and set me somewhere on that bigass fdf map..together with 2 AI who weren´t under my command.

i did some scouting and since nobody else was around i shot em both and quit.

what am i doing wrong ? i was looking forward to the living home and civilian traffic stuff sad_o.gif

If you did not get any error message it must be worked! After start did you see titletext "Deploying troop!"? If yes then bases are built (wach your back). First west army generated and after east. So if you play east side you have to wait almost a minutes to see your troops. wink_o.gif

Hi djukel

I get an error when starting @GMR ( no entry 'config.cpp/cfgweapons.machinegun7_6_E' ). Also the reinforcement eta text in the top right of the screen is merging with the eta time text. A small gripe! And the ai commando captured my supply depot and when i was firing at him, missing many times he never fired a single shot. Maybe he was out of ammo. Besides the small gripes this is a very enjoyable mission idea. Getting my ass kicked! Other than that it works a charm! Can't wait for further updates! Good job!

got it working now...somehow the finmod interfered with gmr, there was a "model special" error at start of the mission.

now with just the fdf island in my gmr addon folder everythings just fine, bases spawn and enemy kicked my ass realy bad, i think it was a bailed tank crew hiding in some bushes crazy_o.gifbiggrin_o.gif

awesome mission, looking forward to any updates!

btw: if i change the units, will i have to modify some of the scripts ?

Hi!

I haven't reached to enemy prison so far. Firstly I was very busy on battlefield, secondly my troops wasn't fallen to captivity. tounge_o.gif

Besides enemy specops blow up my supply depot right there when I needed materials. Thus I couldn't rebuilt it and lack of ammo and fuel resources enemy slowly liquidated me. sad_o.gif

Once I got a script error message but disappered fast I coudn't recognized it.

Djukel! I agree with Mr Burns to make availabe using other addons. wink_o.gif

Yes. Changing soldier's addon is easy, vehicles are little complicated. I will update the FAQ "how to change addons" soon. Maybe I could put most popular addons into next version if you decide what they would be. wink_o.gif

in my version (which doesn´t work anyway  tounge_o.gif ) there are:

DKM´s: Black Eagle, Challenger, Tunguska, Havok & Comanche;

RHS´s T-64;

PSC´s BTRT;

CBT´s M113, M6 & M2A3;

Inq´s M1A2;

CAF´s Griffon;

and finally Nashje Oruje´s (sp?) Mi-2  

edit: forgot VIT Apc´s..

i guess that´s way too much addons for every 08/15 user so i will keep looking forward to the tutorial xmas_o.gif

edit2: imo a dkm version would b cool, they have many addons equaling each others so there will actually be some kind of balance between east and west (just castrate the Tunguska and ADATS a little bit, they´re killers crazy_o.gif ).

thx for the tut just read it, it´s pretty understandable.

ill now try to change some choppers. my biggest problem will be to collect all the classnames & ammo arrays

edit: pbox is THE tool! i just saved several minutes of copying decompressing etc. the needed .pbo´s to get the .cpp,

but now there´s something else itching me... binarized configs! dude i hate ´em,

you just want to look into it to leech the unit name of a black eagle or some stinky t-62 but no.. mister addonmaker had to lock it down  crazy_o.gif

Any chance of using this without being a mod? just as a mission tamplate without the special effects? Reason I think it conflicts with FDF and causes CTD. So just maybe have a plain version with scripts and BIS default units tamplate??

I succeed to unpbo SIGM60, SIGM1 xmas_o.gif with PBO decryptor1.5 but I failed on RSH tanks crazy_o.gif

Try to use island of FDF 1.1 or 1.2 that not cause CTD I am pretty sure. If it is not availabe use IBM version0.96. This is not contains home territory so could be implement to any other island just follow instruction on readme.

I have downloaded 0.96 since I have FDF 1.3.

I think I must be missing something .. there is no mission file rock.gif The other 0.96 folder has 3 missions?

Are those two ziped files related?

i just replaced some units and 2 choppers in my exp_init.sqs .. but despite following your tut step by step it doesn´t work for me sad_o.gif

Hey do you think you could release a "lite" version? Stripped down of any addons, special scripts, just the basic of basic (like on novoga or something)?
