......... but i do hope you will not go for the 'one shot one kill' type of addon, coz that only kills the fun in the game.

But its true to life. Defo for Sabot tank to tank kills.

yes, true in real life, but do we really want that in this game?

yes and no though... not in the way ofp defines a kill... SABOT and DU rounds send shard, bolts, rods and uranium rods into the inside of the tank, basically demolishing the crew inside as it bounces around at high speed... but the tank doesn't blow up on one shot does it? (obv depends where u hit it i guess)

Pull up a sandbag Messy. Uncle Huey has something to tell you.

Sabot penetrates the Tank armour. Sabot 99.9% of the time will come out the other side. It’s the pressure of the Sabot passing through that kills. Usually by bursting eardrums, sucking out eyeball and turning your internal organs into syrup. Then if you are really lucky some hot molten metal “scabs†from the penetration wiz around the turret and drivers cab and pass through you like a watermelon.

Who said Tanks are coffins on tracks? smile_o.gif

You would be lucky to see an explosion with Sabot unless you hit the engine pack. But every good gunner aims for the turret ring (where turret meets hull).

Except DU rounds, which r piriforic, it means DU burns after hit.

I'm thinking if this he can make 2 ver of this cool tank, like Sigma - with D33/43 (standard) and D53 ammo (overkill, but not common yet?).

Quote[/b] ]DU is almost twice as dense as lead and has the ability to self-sharpen on impact with armour, thus making it ideally suited for use as a kinetic energy anti-armour penetrator.

So I guess the maker is past 80% now?

A gorgeous piece of work this is and a joy to handle though i do agree with the power issue but in saying that it is only a Beta at this stage.

Well done Scar.

Hi all

Would any1 know how to incorporate Fishion's tank dust into this.

I already modified it with raedor's suggestion+took the shock and burn scripts from the US tanks pack by Sigma+ a new sound for the gun.

All works fine, except the dust isn't as intense like i wanted it to be-Fishion's effect made it look great, when i tried it as a mission. But I want it directly in the addon.

And I too noticed that they're reluctant to engage enemy.

Example:

put 1 leo  @ Davle and on the other side of the bridge i put 2 T-80's and they blow it to pieces after a couple of shots.   crazy_o.gif

On desert island leo kills them both with no probs.

Leo is configured for 1shot, 1 kill

I also put this

irScanToEyeFactor=3.9;

and have no idea what it means

@Scars:

If you're reading this, it's for my own joy+ keep up the excellent work.  biggrin_o.gif

@ raedor:

Can you supply your(DKM) smoke generator script, but just a tad down on the smoke so the tanks can still be used in numbers without the threat of lag?

when the bolt pentatrates(?) the armor the pressure differance makes the tank burst and this causes the ammo to explode

I found out why they were reluctant to engage the enemy.

Scars put in the config max. range for both ammo types was 300m.

I putted it to 3500 and it's just fine now.

What are the chances of someone uploading a temporary fixed version until Scar releases one?

depleted uranium also bursts into flames when it strikes armor, I believe.

I also doubt that a 40mm penetrator is going to cause any significant over-pressure. The only reason T-72's blow up so much IRL is because of their poor ammunition storage. For example the Ukranians developed a T-80 with a western 120mm and an autoloader with ammunition in the turret basket like the Abrams, complete with blow-out panels smile_o.gif

The Black Eagle also has this system IIRC.

btw don't quote me on the overpressure thing, I'm not really sure.

Yeah, well armed with that information and some chewing gum, won't do you much good against one of those 40mm DU penetrators, IRL. wink_o.gif
