MASTAKILLA 0 Posted July 11, 2004 i´m very impressed by several "new" games. the main reason for me is beside good graphics the real impressiv sound... [x] THX is there any info about ofp2 and it´s sound
Norris 0 Posted July 16, 2004 No idea, but I hope it'll have realistic sound physics. If you've ever heard small arms fire at a distance it sounds totally different than at close range. I'd like to see such (and better) realism.
kerosene 0 Posted July 19, 2004 I'd like the kind of sound that dosent have roaring intermittent bursts of static that are painfully loud if the volumes up to high.
berghoff 11 Posted July 22, 2004 Hmm THX, what is that ? I just will use my Headphones with a SBlive! card  I don't have a room that can handle 4 speakers and woofer. The weirdest thing is that headphones have much clearer and better positioning than speakers. :/ atleast here.
MASTAKILLA 0 Posted July 22, 2004 Hmm THX, what is that ? THX / Games THX Certified Games hmm i don´t wear my glasses so my "kill-skill" depends 50% on my sound
Moach 0 Posted July 23, 2004 i really hope this time they make the guns and explosions sound exciting and powerful. sound was never the strong point n OFP1, the MG's sounded like knocking on wood ...some addons had good sounds though
maddogx 13 Posted July 24, 2004 I know it's just a minor and unimportant thing, but one sound feature I miss in OFP is the sound slowing down when the game speed is slowed down, like in slo-mo cutscenes. It would add a really cool effect to well scripted cutscenes. If you have ever played Postal 2 you know what I mean.
Longjocks 0 Posted July 27, 2004 I'd like the hear the same effect of rain as in Vietcong. I once told a mate that when I turned up the volume on one of the maps with a muddy hill and heavy rain, I actually felt wet and cold.
Gollum1 0 Posted July 28, 2004 I don't think you understand how this sound works, every game I have played that has THX quality lets you choose stereo, 4.1, headphones, 5.1, 6.1 etc. Why would I choose one of these, OFP2 will obviously have stereo and probably 5.1 sound and if we're really lucky it will be THX certified (which doesn't concretely mean anything besides a quality sticker). It's like asking, do you prefer pixel shading, anti-aliasing, vertex shading or vsync. If you mean what kind of sound setup I have, I use headphones.

If you mean what kind of sound setup I have, I use headphones. no i asked nothing about your sound setup if you read it carefull
