REALISM!!!

Recommended Posts

Im thinking that BIS will eventually fix this bug of helicopters floating and sinking w/out getting destroyed and such. Hopefully they will have enough insight to let the chinook do it still. Also, i hope they raise the floating height a little bit on the chinook since it is pratically totally submerged when it floats...

Yeah, there are a number of Sikorsky models which are amphibious, like the S-61 Sea King:

Ive been wanting to post on this thread for ages but havnt been able to grrrr, but anyway, u can do this with a few helicopters. Once in (failed as youll probably guess) attemot to board an lst, i thied to get a hind right up to the side of the lst, and then partially submerged it (i did it so much that my entire cockpit was underwater, only the blades stayed above water) and then i accidently turned the engine off, and i stayed still. Thats when i found that nearly all the choppers can land on water. Ive done it with the kiowa once in an attempt to fend off an amphibious assault, and ive also done it in a blackhawk. Once i was in a model store, and i noticed a version of the chinook with no pods on the side. I didnt take notice of this, but this was a sea knight as used by the marines, which Does have sea landing capability, so i ask- what are the pods on the chinook for? just extra strorage?
