Drill Sergeant 0 Posted July 11, 2004 I'm being sarcastic..... BAS and I started doing seals roughly the same time. Yes extraction and I are working together. I'm doing the woodland seals and the vehicles. Now I have to make CBT a gama goat....... I'll hopefully dedicate tomorrow to finishing the entire Ch46 model.... Scratch that off my list. DB-ERAUPilot 0 Posted July 11, 2004 sweet I'm sure I speak for everybody who was disappointed with BAS's decision when I say thanks and we look forward to yalls work

BoweryBaker 0 Posted July 11, 2004 I think you guys should just stick to modern seals. old seals have been done before and it will save alot of hassle to just stick to the modern seals of today. Thats just my opinion.
ruff 102 Posted July 11, 2004 or another idea release or concentrate on the present day seals since there are none at he moment except of sjb seals which had been stopped for unknown time due to texture problems and then release the old ones since there are plenty of good lookin old ones
shadow 6 Posted July 11, 2004 Secondly the MK23 is a LOUD gun with the silenceron it. Dry with a silencer a Mk23 reports @ 130 Db, wet you can get a Mk23 down to 122 DB. Thats like a unsilenced .22 still loud. M9's would be a beter choice. Don't know where you've heard this, but its not true. A silenced MK23 is a tad louder than a silenced .22 but not much. The main difference is the sound is a deep thump instead of something similar to a air-pistol. If a silenced MK23 sounded like a unsilenced .22 I'd be deaf by now. Yes, I have a Browning Buckmark .22 too A silenced .45 is still the best round accuracy-wise and penetration-wise.
spm1138 0 Posted July 11, 2004 I think you guys should just stick to modern seals. old seals have been done before and it will save alot of hassle to just stick to the modern seals of today. Thats just my opinion. SEBnam only has early Vietnam SEALs and I haven't spotted any good Reagan era SEALs (which'd be nice if you were doing Beirut, for example). There's also Gulf War 1 to think about. But yes, it's the modern SEALs I am really eager to see.

spm1138 0 Posted July 12, 2004 http://www.news.navy.mil/view_gallery.asp?category_id=15 Obviously it's mostly training, but you can find some very good photos in there. High res and good quality, too. That photo at the start of the thread that someone identified as being an A-Team looked like SEALs to me (AFAIKnew Army SF don't use the M60 anymore). Incidentally, does a lot of the stuff in that gallery look like way too much fun to be something you get paid for?
Drill Sergeant 0 Posted July 12, 2004 @ Shadow, it was some sight with Mk23 specs and a knights SD. I don't know the actual age of the information. the .22 comment refers to it dry, not wet. Also some civilian scilencers work beter then kinghts or so I've heard. Also as an update on the Ch46 I have doors on it now, top engine cowling so all it needs now is the back door some more body work and the top cowling and it's ready for skining. I'm probably gona be gone all of tomorrow for another dental appointment. Thats almost guaranteed to knock me out for a day or so. I'll report back as soon as possible. *edit* The US special forces do not have a gear restriction.... earth to people, just because some one says there not useing it doesn't mean they never will again. It's quite possible they still use it. Or maybe you guys just don't like m60's or something.

BoweryBaker 0 Posted July 12, 2004 This is a good site for all of your tactical information like when before i started a thread on what unit to use when. Well as for the seals it says Quote[/b] ]SEAL Platoon MissionSEAL platoons are organized and trained to conduct Direct Action, Unconventional Warfare, Foreign Internal Defense, Special Reconnaissance, and Combating Terrorism operations primarily in the maritime and riverine environments. These operations include sabotage, demolition, intelligence collection, hydrographic reconnaissance, and training and advising friendly military forces in the conduct of naval and joint special operations. SEAL Platoon Capabilities SEAL platoons can destroy or sabotage enemy shipping, port and harbor facilities, bridges, railway lines, communications centers and other lines of communication in and around maritime and riverine environments. They can infiltrate and exfiltrate selected personnel by submarine, surface vessel, aircraft or land vehicle. They can conduct reconnaissance and surveillance in multiple environments. They can organize, train and assist US, allied and other friendly military or paramilitary forces in the conduct of special operations. SEAL Platoon Security Surprise and freedom of movement are essential to the success of special operations. These vital factors are based on accurate and timely intelligence. Because of the nature of SEAL operations, all aspects of operational security should be diligently observed throughout planning and conduct of operations. Information to friendly forces should be available only on a need-to-know basis. Negotiations with local political factions that are necessary for the performance of a SEAL operation should be carefully planned to preclude compromise. It even went on to explain in detail a foreign defence mission from start to finish. It wasn't that exciting but its the life of a SEAL. I thought it was a little exciting to imagine.
