One 0 Posted July 6, 2004 are you trying to make it modern? like do they still use these? or is this more "nam"ish?
Baphomet 0 Posted July 6, 2004 It really doesn't interest me so much. I guess it'd be a nice feature as an artillery type thing you can call in. However otherwise. I'd just wait to see if it's implemented in OFP 2. It's really really sad that games like Desert Combat have features that OFP really needs yet that game is so horribly unrealistic and annoying to play. FerretFangs 0 Posted July 6, 2004 My brother has flown several missions on AC-130U's in Iraq just this year. Two in Falluja. It's an awesome platform, built tough, and equipped with an incredble array of sensors and weapons. The Taliban fighters, and insurgents in Iraq have learned a hard lesson of terror and respect for this aircraft. You cannot hide from it, it is optimized for extreme violence, and it's crews are dedicated and trained to kill, maim, and destroy the enemy with both laser designated pin-point precision, and extremely high volume of decisive firepower. Spooky kills badguys.....DEAD!

Sounds like a USAF commercial. With missions, do you mean actual combat missions where they fired at targets? What is your brother's role in the plane? FerretFangs 0 Posted July 6, 2004 Actual combat missions, of course. You don't send a battleship to take pictures... My brother is a crew chief, and hydraulics specialist. He also deploys with the aircraft as a force protection operator. Basically, augmenting AF security forces by guarding the plane and crew, while it is on the ground. Pappy Boyington 0 Posted July 6, 2004 hey CT. why dont you take a small break, or mabe jsut work on textures for the time being. the USCG pack is set for release either the 14th or 25th of this month. . .after that Extraction has ofered to help you with the model and plus he has thelatest scripts for the spooky from grendel. and i have a few ideas on how to implement the scripts into it. so once i get those damn trucks for Y2K3, that will be finished, the USCG mod first release is near, once we get that out (we will still be working on other USCG projects but will have more time for this) we , Extraction and I, will be able to ofer as much help on this as possible

-ZG-BUZZARD 0 Posted August 8, 2004 Dont know how far you guys have got with this project ?http://www.nata2.info/war/AC-130U_gunship_video_lo.wmv Orson... that video... IS PERVERSELY SICK!!!
FerretFangs 0 Posted August 8, 2004 No, that video is simply the reality of modern warfare, when one has the misfortune of being on the recieving end of the US government's foreign policy. Taking on the US military, is a quite dangerous, and perhaps suicidal affair. Do so at your extreme peril. To be fair, Spooky crews are at risk during these operations, as they are still flying in a Hercules, in a relatively low-speed, low-altitude orbit pattern. They DO take hits, and it only takes one "golden BB" to end your life. I worry about my brother flying on these planes all the time. But then, he loves his job, and did sign on for the rough stuff. I feel extremely fortunate that there are men like him, that bravely, and professionally, fly into harm's way to carry the fight to the enemy, where they live. The uncut, high resolution video is MUCH better. It's like watching a malicious kid smashing bugs in the backyard with a hammer.
