Mister Frag 0 Posted June 18, 2004 128MB of RAM? Are you serious? If that's correct, that's your problem right there -- OFP:R requires 256MB minimum, and that's without addons and a bunch of stuff running in the background. Your system barely meets the requirements for loading Windows XP. joltan 0 Posted June 29, 2004 And also be aware that the release candidates for WinXP are not stable releases (and explicitly intended for testing only - not for 'real use'). While I personally haven't had any problems yet with neither RC1 nor RC2 while playing OFP or any other stuff that may vary between hardware setups. Once you have enough memory in your machine (upgrade to at least 512mb - everything less is a waste of money) and you are still experiencing troubles, then go back to the regular release, even if that means a reinstall. A clean system never hurt anyone anyways. Edit: Oh, and your GF2 MX is also about the absolute baseline for playing OFP (or any other games released within the last 3-4 years). Why don't you look into an upgrade? To be able to enjoy OFP at its best I'd recommend at least a GF4Ti 4200 (or an equivalent cheap Radeon) and 512mb ddr ram - if your motherboard doesn't support dual channel memory access, then you might want to upgrade that, too. Your CPU (if it's really a 2GHz+ AthlonXP) should be fine.
