cobra@pulse 0 Posted May 23, 2004 I just had an idea today that I think would greatly improve cutscenes and make certain inros and outros much easier to do. My idea was to create a Special Effects pack, heres a few things that i think could go in a pack if anyone ever wanted to make a pack. 1) Bullet areas. (Randomly creates particles to imitate bullets hiting the ground.) 2) Planes of glass. (To fit major BIS houses that can be placed infront of them, that when you execute a script bullet holes an appear in the window in a order.) 3) Areas for explosion. (Small areas that explode big, but cause no damage, and ithers that do.) These are just some of my ideas anyway. Just wonder what you guys think.
void_false 1 Posted May 23, 2004 why i love OFP so much is because you have not to "fake" anything.
redface 1 Posted May 23, 2004 you have not to "fake" anything. Â but I support the idea of setpossing window panes ...
@cero 0 Posted May 23, 2004 It sounds like a really good idea. I was actually thinking about the explossions last night. I wanted to make an intro where infantry is advancing under fire, and you get alot of effects going around, explossions, bullet cloudlets, blood, puddles being hit by bullets, etc. The problem is that with all this malawky going on is not too difficult to screw up the intro while it plays, so I thought that ussing the drop command for the nearest explossions to the important stuff would do OK. Now that you open this topic, perhaps somebody could do such a thing. And with this open topic come the ideas aswell, like puddles, just water and mudd. Make it that when they get hit a splater comes out from them like if the bullets are splashing in the water, similar to the blood addon by Snypir but not on units but puddles. Just a thought. @CERO. cobra@pulse 0 Posted May 24, 2004 Like i said, you could have deadly versions of both, explosions that are dangerious and others that aren't. And you do have to fake things, if there isn't a addon that you really need you have to find ways round such things, I just think this would make that a bit eaisier. Just my two cents anyway. Gollum1 0 Posted May 24, 2004 why i love OFP so much is because you have not to "fake" anything. Oh really? Can you put bulletholes in a window without "faking it", or execute a small explosion near a building without it killing everything inside and leaving the house without a scratch without this addon? Really, I'd like to hear how you can do this without "faking" it.
