Placebo 29 Posted May 4, 2004 Try looking in the threads found here by searching, general consensus is a driver problem or spyware. I had the error in the past and had a soundblaster sound card which seems to blame
denoir 0 Posted May 4, 2004 Yepp, it's sound card related. I started getting it when I switched from Win XP to Win Server 2003. As far as I've been able to establish, it only happens when I use one or two specific addons.
bn880 5 Posted May 4, 2004 Actually this can be caused my a number of reasons, one of which is improper regulation to your chipset or even CPU. Your motherboard may be failing, but also it could be a sound blaster live ;) Or drivers...
dinger 1 Posted May 4, 2004 Or it just could be the devil. In my case, I get an IRQ_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL under the following circumstances: A) computer start from cold. B) between 5-15 minutes after booting. It took me ripping everything out of the computer, reflashing, rebuilding and reinstalling to figure this out. Now I have to turn it on, wait for it to come up, then reboot, and it works fine. Good luck with your problem.
toadlife 3 Posted May 5, 2004 Sound Blaster Live is the only thing I've ever seen cause this partcicular error. An updated driver will fix it. The preferred fix is of course to drop your SB Live card off a tall building and buy a different card. I hate that card.
Mister Frag 0 Posted May 5, 2004 This error has also been caused by both NVIDIA's and ATI's older video card drivers. I would run DXDIAG, and have it go through all of the tests. If it find nothing wrong, run the OFP Preferences program, and use Autodetect, then try OFP again. You can also try running OFP in a window to see if not switching video modes will allow it to start up -- just temporarly add -nosplash -window -x=800 -y=600 to the shortcut.
