Agua 0 Posted April 20, 2004 I'd like to see control over multiple squads - up to a company (9 squads). There are a few scripts that are available which do this now, but as far as I'm aware, they all suffer in that the squad size can be no more than 11, and when the player leaves the squad after issuing orders, the squad will cease executing the orders or respond to the player if the second in command in each squad is killed. McHale 0 Posted April 20, 2004 I think the squad limit in OFP is quite reasonable. A US army squad is a unit of 8 to 11 soldiers. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,74845,00.html I would like the ability to command multiple squads though.
nyles 11 Posted April 21, 2004 Well if you want to simulate for example a vietnam era USMC rifle squad, you would need 13 keys. 12 keys for 12 men would normally be enough but it makes things like platoon control, etc.. very unflexible. May suggestion about a reworked control structure inclunding radio usage can be found here!

True, but the scale of the objectives and size of the environment really lends itself to larger scale groups than a single squad. Of course, single squad is fun as well, but realistically, a single squad is not going to be charged with driving 3 kilometers and taking a town the size of Montignac. Anyway, it's just a suggestion. Pathy 0 Posted April 21, 2004 No, realistically the US would bomb the town of Montignac to s**t, send in about 200 men, when the 1st enemy is spotted they will then call in airsupport, and only then, when Montignac is a smoking ruin, will the US move in to "liberate" whats left of it........ Hmmm what there should be is a proper command element that co-ordinates the actions of all squads. So that you get pretty accurate whole island battles, where the command calls in choppers, tanks, ect. Would work a treat.....
G-LOC 0 Posted April 25, 2004 We can control severals squad with CoC Command Engine. OFP2 need a screen to control large troops. The OFP´s map it´s enough to squad control. G-LOC
