Robot plane drops bomb in successful test

Recommended Posts

Quote[/b] ]Unmanned fighters and bombers is a narrowminded tactic and a large step backwards (at least with current technology).

No, they are a step up for the US military. We have plenty of cash, but we don't like casualties. And drones cost a lot of money, but you don't lose a pilot when one is shot down. Next, the US military needs to ask Cyberdyne to start making automated soldiers wink_o.gif  wow_o.gif .

it is cheap (75% less running costs, 65% less development costs than average bombers) price around 10-15 million each.

It can be stored in a simple container for over 10 years without maintenance and ready for use within 90 minutes.

So far the programm only consumed 250 million dollars. Seems the US forces have learned how to deal with money efficiently and effectively. To me sounds like a great plane!

Development costs of the A-66 were  $12.2 billion dollars, the Raptor development now consumes far more than 20 billion. I think you should see it in comparison.

I personally hate all robotic devices in the military. blues.gif

I am with you.

Not to mention, most fighter/bomber pilots I've seen interviewed has said that they hate the idea of robots doing what they have always wanted to do. And that they are willing to risk their lives anyways.

Very interesting, but is it human-controlled or is it auto-piloted?

How will it succeed when coming under enemy AA-defences?

How about evasive maneuver and countermeassures?

Ain't gonna last a minute. just waste of money
