The current main problems in ofp

Recommended Posts

Well first of all I'm sure I play much more online than you, or anybody else that has posted here.

How do you know that? I play since v1.00 nearly every day for hours on the internet, i don't play sp at all and i have my own server. But if you can't find facts to back up your claims you have to resort to statements like that i guess...

BTW: i have never seen a cheater in these 3 years of ofp online.

This thread is about ways we can solve top issues in Operation Flashpoint.  Not an argument fest.

They are either cavemen or are just beyond stupid.

SpecOp9 please be more careful with your tone as otherwise you're likely to turn this into what you wanted it not to be.

Cheaters could just make multiple XMLs to use.. It's of no purpose.. And it's kind of hard to register a XML without webspace. Most free webspace doesn't allow it.

I have many UBI account names. Mainly because I rarely use them. Most games can still connect through the console. Once I find a good server I write down the IP and bypass the entire process. As somebody stated you could also just make many XML accounts. So being able to ban one XML file is rather useless.

The key would be to give each player a unique ID based on their CD Key. Then again OFP I think, already has this. I dislike the idea of a cheaters site. For one, what evidence will need to be brought fourth to totally ban a user from all OFP servers? I was accused of cheating on an OFP server. Until I actually had to show the admin how to properly aim his rifle. Apparently he figured if you can shoot somebody at 200 meter while they are running in a straight line your cheating. Now because of this person I could be banned for all OFP servers. That doesn't sound fair at all. The best thing to do is just ban the user on YOUR server.

I understand cheating is a great fear but there is no need to start burning villagers because somebody wants to cheat. You'll do more harm than good by forcefully banning people (some of whom will be innocent and just pulled off a lucky shot) to an eternal hell of not being able to play a game they bought online. I know why you want to do it but there are so many problems that come along with that. What about the bandwidth issues? How much webspace would it use? How much GB of traffic a month will the site use? Who will pay for it? Should BIS pay for it? I'd rather see BIS spend more money on making the game better and not setting up a site for server admins too lazy to police their own server.

This isn't meant to be mean or come off as a confrontation. It's just to show how many problems this brings up and it does so for very little gain.

Quote[/b] ]So who runs this website?...

Somebody we can trust?  I'm sure OFPEC or OFP.info, or somebody else would gladly like to help out...depending on the idea at hand.  It does'nt matter who runs the site, the site will run itself.

Am I the only one that sees the problem here?
