BoweryBaker 0 Posted June 26, 2004 I got a better scenario. The US government asked Russia for permission to fly low within its airspace to take some photos of ground zero. The pilot for some strange reason crashes there during the mission and is presumed dead. One hour later there is a signal coming from Chernobyl. It's the pilots ejector seat. This leaves the closest delta force team within the area exactly 3 hours to find the man and evacuate before the radiation sets in. You play as a member of that delta squad. So you go there and you search for the man, limited to only being on the concrete since wood soaks up radiation like a sponge. Suddenly you come upon the resurrected corpses of the liquidators. (The Liquidators are those people who were recruited or forced to assist in the cleanup or the "liquidation" of the consequences of the accident. As a totalitarian government the Soviet Union forced many young soldiers to assist in the cleanup of the Chernobyl accident, apparently without sufficient protective clothing and insufficient explanation of the danger involved.) 1shottokill 0 Posted August 7, 2004 I've got a story for you, the same as bowerybake's up until you come across the zombies (or undead), you could find a lost community (armed and dangerous), who have been convinced by their leader that the West is to blame for this atrocity at the Chernobyl plant and as the Delta team call for backup and ambulances, the men in the lost community rape and brutally murder the female russian translator in the group and shoot down the russian kamov that brings in the spetznatz reinforcements. just a thought you know! -ZG-BUZZARD 0 Posted August 9, 2004 btw: I noticed the broken/removed links to the 'Kiddofspeed' (with the motorbike tour through the Ghost Town Pripyat) on the first pages.Well, as I happen to promote Wikipedia lately, Pripyat, including a link to the new webpage of the Kiddofspeed, Elena Filatova. Damn, I just noted something rather worrying... Elena's bike's license plate reads: K.I.A.... Â
Metalmalte 0 Posted August 9, 2004 hey berghoff, i would really like to help you out with maybe modelling some buildings and so on! i will write a pm to you... ah, and the thing about the kiddofspeed: Quote[/b] ]I am sorry to report that much of Elena's story is not true. She did not travel around the zone by herself on a motorcycle. Motorcycles are banned in the zone, as is wandering around alone, without an escort from the zone administration. She made one trip there with her husband and a friend. They traveled in a Chornobyl car that picked them up in Kyiv. She did, however, bring a motorcycle helmet. They organized their trip through a Kyiv travel agency and the administration of the Chornobyl zone (and not her father). They were given the same standard excursion that most Chernobyl tourists receive. When the Web site appeared, Zone Administration personnel were in an uproar over who approved a motorcycle trip in the zone. When it turned out that the motorcycle story was an invention, they were even less pleased about this fantasy Web site. -Mary Mycio - http://www.neilgaiman.com/journal....ing.asp
