Gollum1 0 Posted April 9, 2004 If you want realistic 1985 soldiers, try HYK U.S infantry These IMO they're in another class than helmet remodels... Another pic Download btw the latest version looks even better than the ones in the pics.

Bobcatt666 0 Posted April 10, 2004 perhaps u havnt seen This Thread cept it uses the '03 era soldiers. still replaces al the default BIS stuff Or This One if u dont like my changes You fail to get the pint back in !995 the M1 steel pot was still heavilly used in the Army for training the Fritz usually in most cases only got issued to the main front line units. And you had to qualify to wear it. Other words having to actually earn wearing the fritz till it was in better numbers in the supply systems. Take years for equipment to trickle down to most of the units. Slowly they came out and weeded out the M1 which then was kept still mostly for parades. and leser messing around was held on for long time for repelling training. the fritz weighing in at around 12 lbs, was a bit heavy for most of the first issued types and didn't stick till after Grenada and Panama where soldiers had survived taking hits in the head from large calibre weapons. I personaly trashed about three of them bet their still in a case in the commands offices, from a 7.62 x 54 R hitting it and pealing back a strip of kevlar. Another from a highway accident in a M151A2 somebody rear ended up in as they forced into the military convoy. and lost the helmet it rolled down the high speed lane after being struck by several cars, and wedged into the guardrail. It was trashed but didn't shatter mostly the major scrapes and the cover and chin straps chewed away by roadrash. Another with a 50 cal oprod stuck in it. pretty much what not to do with helmets in my unit samples. The M1 helmet swap was to protray more realistic units from that time, which was started but kinda never heard from again. I still hafd my M1 in the Army about 91 just it did have a woodland cover on it posed to the leaf patern comonly worn in Nam.
