Placebo 29 Posted March 2, 2004 What version of Opf? How many addons? Using -nomap? What Radeon drivers?
xtremeking 0 Posted March 2, 2004 Its a fresh install, no addons. It seems like my driver version is CATALYSTâ„¢ 3.7. What should I do?
Placebo 29 Posted March 2, 2004 Update to the latest Cats and try adding the -nomap command to your shortcut, if you're not sure how to use it a search will show how
xtremeking 0 Posted March 2, 2004 Thanks, I hope this works. If not, you will be hearing from me.

turms 0 Posted March 3, 2004 Are you using -nomap parameter after the exe?
xtremeking 0 Posted March 3, 2004 Yes I do, but should I remove the "-marks? I'll try that, but if that not works, what should I do?
xtremeking 0 Posted March 3, 2004 Tried using the -nomap command, it doesn't work. What should I do next?
Placebo 29 Posted March 3, 2004 In what way doesn't it work? Sure you're using it right? It should look something like this.......
PainDealer 0 Posted March 3, 2004 what version of OFP are you running? try patching to 1.91 and 1.96BETA and start with -nomap.
xtremeking 0 Posted March 4, 2004 I dont have resistance so I can't patch to 1.91. Oh, it looked like I used -nomap wrong. I'll try it again. I'll post again if it doesn't work.
xtremeking 0 Posted March 4, 2004 Tried using -nomap as you showed me, but it still doesn't work! What's wrong guys? Why doesn't it work?
Placebo 29 Posted March 4, 2004 What's your AGP aperture size set to in your bios? Didn't realise you only have the original Opf -nomap doesn't work with that.

The -nomap options works only with 1.94 or newer - you therefore need to upgrade to Resistance or GOTY to get it working.
xtremeking 0 Posted March 4, 2004 What's your AGP aperture size set to in your bios? How do I check my AGP aperture???
Placebo 29 Posted March 4, 2004 You need to go into your bios to look, I'll paste a previous answer I gave with the info........ >How can i get into BIOS? In the post screen (the screen you see when you first boot your computer) you press a key to go into setup, often delete, or F1 or something like that, it will say on the screen what key it is but be quick to spot it. >Where in BIOS is the AGP Area. Changes from motherboard to motherboard, best bet is to just look everywhere for it >If I Change this, will it screw up my computer? No. >What is worst case senario if it does? Worst case is that some games may not work as well as they would with a higher AGP setting, but then why would you want to play any other games?
xtremeking 0 Posted March 4, 2004 Ah too much trouble for just one game. I have other games to play. It's sad that it didn't work from the beginning, SHAME ON YOU BOHEMIA!!! MAKE US ABLE TO PLAY WITHOUT PROBLEMS EVEN WITH ATI CARDS!!!
Placebo 29 Posted March 4, 2004 As incredible programmers as BIS are there was never the possibility that they could see into the future and know how hardware would work in the future, only a small majority have hardware issues with Opf, and I don't recall a single person having an issue that couldn't be resolved, if you're happy to waste your $40/Å30 or whatever that's entirely your choice but it's a shame when you're missing out on the finest game in the genre and indeed of its generation. For the record I've had 5 ATI cards, 7200, 9500, 9600, 9600 and now a 9800, Opf has worked flawlessly on every one of them (despite the 9500 and both 9600's being faulty cards and having to be returned), so you can't say that Opf doesn't work with ATI cards, sure in some configurations ATI cards have had glitches/problems, but nothing that couldn't be resolve by one means or another

MAKE US ABLE TO PLAY WITHOUT PROBLEMS EVEN WITH ATI CARDS!!! What a very ungrateful post... Main forum's moderator and even BIS' lead programmer are trying to help you on your problem and that's all you find to answer You forgot that the OFP:Cold War Crisis game was released several years ago, when ATI cards and drivers were fully tested and working. If you like OFP so much buy goty version or resistance for a few $.
Swordsmanb 0 Posted March 31, 2004 Hi, I just bought a new computer: P4 3.0 Ghz processor ATI RADEON 9800XXL 128 MB 512 MB RAM and I also get this error messege: Cannot create 3D device: Adapter 0 (MEDION RADEON 9800XXL) Fullscreen Resolution 1024x768, format X8R8G8B8/D24S8, refresch 75 Hz. Error D3DERR_OUTOFVIDEOMEMORY But it ONLY appears if I add some addons. When I start OFP just with BIS Addons, it works fine. I have upgraded to v1.92BETA. Can anyone help me? theavonlady 2 Posted March 31, 2004 But it ONLY appears if I add some addons. How much is "some"? Are you using mod folders? Why aren't you using 1.96 beta?
Swordsmanb 0 Posted March 31, 2004 Well, "some" means some. Initially my Addons-Folder had a size of 935 MB and the Res\Addons 747 MB, but also after I reduced the number of addons, I get the error. Note: On my old computer it worked fine with this load of Addons. I'm not using any MOD-Folders. I had updated to 1.96, but then I got an error messege saying that DKMM_Addons (or DKMM_Mod, not sure about this) needs version 1.92. But then the game started and I got some strange objects schowing on the screen, but no menu... Then I uninstalled OFP completely and updated it to 1.92. Swordsmanb 0 Posted March 31, 2004 WOW!!!! I was just installing OFP, now it's finished. I upgraded it to 1.94 and used "-nomap". AND NOW IT WORKS!!!! OK, then, thanks for your answer.
