Ddriod 0 Posted March 1, 2004 Hmm most destroyed tanks look like shit in OFP...all twisted...isaw a tank once hit by AT fire...never found out what kind of AT weapon it was but i guess a HEAT round. The point is...the hatches was open and the tank as burned...my officer said no ammo and almost no fuel was in the tank when it "died"...otherwise its possible that the turret fly away. bmgarcangel 0 Posted March 2, 2004 Ya man it would be nice. But hell, its like encoded in the engine to make it look like crap, so how can we possibly change it to make it look really nice?
Bobcatt666 0 Posted March 2, 2004 Well some of the newer tank packs often come with a destroyed vehicle that switches place with the good model. Oddly I rember around the 192 patch that the tanks would die in the same position the good model did so the gun still pointed at the same spot as it was before getting hit. Now you get more fancey lately as PSC has the flying turret explossion on the new BRT-T IFV. Hopefully this will catch on in the community and become stanadaer on the soviet made armored vehicles. US built veicles they tend to bother bolting the turrert to the hull usually total destruction had be taken place to blow an M1A1s turret off. Opposed to a T series tank that is held down by its weight. They also did this so it could be easier to repair and or replace. West equipment is often over complicated and high maintenace by design. Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted March 2, 2004 Have you ever seen the Mi-2 pack by "our weapons". This pack had the engine-wreck model replaced by a custom-wreck model with a script. This gives an awesome result and is the main reason why I simply love this pack. I keep using it even though there are much better choppers than the Mi-2 (no better addons; the Mi-2 pack is awesome. But better choppers; like the mi-8). THe Mi-28 Havoc by DKM had a simular script with a great crashed model. This same trick can be used on tank-addons. I don't think there's a way to do this on the original BIs tanks, but with addons it's very well possible. I wonder why it never saw wide-spread use among addon-makers. Burned-out tank models would be much, much better than the "paper-model" wreck produced by the OFP engine. Luckily BIS has hte same idea and will ichange the wreck system in OFP2
void_false 1 Posted March 2, 2004 if i was a modeller i would make following features in my addons: When some car(jeep, truck) is destroyed, i delete previous model, spawn new one on its place and spawn few wheels that roll in different directions When some rocket hits human's body, i replace it(delete existing model) with few new models of limbs. same things with other objects in game. But it is already to late for me to start learning modelling. maybe when OFP2 released...

maybe when OFP2 released... It's never to late to start modelling. You have to exercise a lot before you can make good models. So better start now learning modelling, so you can make good models when OFP 2 arrives
