Impavido 0 Posted February 16, 2004 I know a lot of people have requested special operations style missions, more stealth elements, etc etc. I want to clarify what I think that means. When you jump into an enemy vehicle and start driving, all the AI enemies instantly know that you are on the opposing side and act accordingly. It would be nice if it would be possible to use a "Trojan Horse" tactic, with a chance of the enemy AI not being aware or sure of who is really in the vehicle until its too late. Yea yea yea there are scripts and such for stuff like that but they dont always work right and it would just be a nice feature to the game. And one of the oldest methods of this kind of stuff is using the enemy uniforms/clothing to blend in and make a suprise attack. Allies/Axis did it in WWII, Israeli Defense Forces and Palestinian Militants do it, Saddam Hussien tried to obtain American GI uniforms so he could blame civilian deaths on the US, blah blah blah, etc etc. I think that the Black Ops/Spetz Natz (or their OFP2 equivalent) should have an option to switch uniforms with a downed character from the opposing force. But this should be an option that can be turned off and on my map maker cuz it could get really annoying in a multiplayer match.
bmgarcangel 0 Posted February 16, 2004 dude hide yourself in a vehicle driven by someone else, in fact your whole damned squad. say a bmp driven by a friendly nice russian. All you do is have that russian driver on the east side, put him in, then put all the americans in via <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> this moveincargo bmpgg1 Then the driver gets to the base, stops, and you all jump out and take them all by surprise. Plain and simple ~Bmgarcangel
Harnu 0 Posted February 16, 2004 Considering this isn't the mission editing forum, I think he means that without scriping he would like to just be able to run up to a vehicle driven by an enemy and get inside, such as getting into the back of a truck. And that if you are driving an enemy vehicle, you aren't recognized as enemy right away, they would have to see you before they know that the vehicle is not friendly. And fix your sig bmgarcangel, it's too big

SnypaUK 0 Posted February 16, 2004 I hope they dont put stealth in anyway. If i want stealth and sneaking around ill buy splinter crap.
bn880 5 Posted February 16, 2004 I agree with this suggestion, the awareness level of the enemy when an opposing side soldier is in one of their vehicles is too high. As in, you should be able to even drive a civvy trabant within 100m of a base or checkpoint before they start to get worried about the uniform etc. And no way in hell should all armor and aircraft know that there is an opposing force soldier driving a Ural or motorcycle right off the bat. Impavido 0 Posted February 16, 2004 For one, Splinter Cell is an awesome game! Great graphics, good level design, and the best controls I've used (I've only played Xbox version though) OFP is a realistic combat simulation. And since day one, stealth and suprise has been a part of war. OFP should not revolve around stealth, but it should be an element to the game to boost realism and tactical options. And if there are lots of options and abilities like that, all sorts of Spy, assassination, special ops, etc missions would be easy to make and fun to play!
