Mess tents, food addons and an eating animation

hey has anyone thought of making an addon pack with a mess tent and all the tables and chairs that people can sit at with food on the table and an eating animation?

i think it would b cool

the webpage could be OFP culinary delight

YES! FINALLY!

The BIGGEST part of the military is supply and admin. You have about 1/5 combat ready troops, and like 2/5 supply people, and 1/5 admin. SOMEONE DO THIS!

EDIT: Jakerod brought something up. The rest of the military is like 1/3 aircraft techs, legal stuff, and stuff like that. But that puts me over the limit. What if those 5s are 6s? What if that is a 5 masquerading as a 6? What if it's about 1/5 actually, now that I think about it?

Nice idea..

But take a look at the "fuel support".

It´s some sort of useless, cause there is no "unified fuel system".

With most of the addons, you can fly/drive nearly endless.

Next problem: there is no "status" on the fuel, only "fuel low" message.

So I see a big problem to realise food supply that really makes sence in OFP.

But I really like this idea.

I have readed somewhere that NAFP(Nogova Armed Force Project)Will be creating everything a army needs also admin stuff and Supply and maintance stuff

You know this is a great idea but what about random animation scripts??

So now we have some soldiers walking along or something in a mission, now this random animation script thing makes it so that whenever the guys are allowed to, like when in careless or safe or aware mode, they can break out a pack of smokes or a candy bar and start munching away.

Perhaps even sometimes looking at you or someone else and asking " hey budy you got a light" then you reply and do an action according to what you say via action menu.

But have it completely random instead of played over and over and over again in a long mission, the same guy asking the same damned quesiton with same voice and same words

But ya food would be great!

Having all you guys rest and have em walk around with there little cup in one hand a spoon in other, cook give me some food, cook gives, and they get some food, then they go sit in some random area and start the eating animation

I do admin work for an ROTC in real life, it's a big part of the military. supah, make em. It'll make me happy.

or some skittles! US soldiers love those!

I mean hell, you can put a phone in a soldiers hand, now lets do the food!

wow you guys sound interested.  

I was watching mash and hawkeye and trapper were having there usual mess tent witty conversation and i thought how cool would it be 2 to have this in flashpoint even if just for cutscenes.

Or even if you made a mission and the player had to kill 15mins till the choppers took off, you could go to the mess tent and have a drink or sumtin to eat

and someone could make a soldier model with a cooking appron and in the action menu it came up with "Abuse cook over state of food".

The eating and drinking anims could be simple nothing over the top.

Oh and MRE's, maybe you could fit it in to one of your magazine slots and it does sumtin when on a mission

i dont know what but it would be cool.

in the middle of a fire fight you pull out your MRE and throw it at the enemy.

I believe it should be done. I mean it shouldn't be that hard. And I believe who ever undertakes in this should make it so all soldiers can do it but without having a bunch of commands and stuff, and things to make it work for everyone. So bassically, have it so that

And all soldiers on both sides would do random acts. Now actions would depend based on if the soldier is east or west or resistance. Each of those soldiers would have there own set of words and different objects and food they could enjoy.

heh, I used to be Admin officer in my Navy JROTC unit a year ago, then I was Supply officer and now i'm currently the XO of my unit...... Logistics have been long overlooked in OFP, and they are a major part of military life. Someone has to give the troops X-rated mags so they'll stop chasing the general's daughter around and what would the troops do without their pay or toilet paper?

Putting together a team is not adviseable when you can't do it yourself. A good leader should not ask something of his men that he cannot do himself.

my skills are in mission making but ive started messin around with O2 and stuff but its a learning curve and how better than to learn by starting a project like this.

In that case, I can probably do some stuff on the offhand, but I'm pretty absorbed by BDM right now making buildings and all.

but i really wouldnt care if i was project lead or not, but i would want to be a part of it somehow , if sum1 out there would want to take this project on it would be great for OFP mission making

I don't think ROTC and a few logistics would be...exactly the bomb. But I think the random eating, eating, food, smokes, smoke boxes, ration bags, smoking and eatin animations and then in general random talking and chating conversations.

But like other things get a little too complicated and boring.

Ok, when I'm done with the Keflavik buildings, I'll do some objects. I'm still fiddling with O2, currently I'm using Maya, and having other people import to O2 as I learn it.
