Apollo 0 Posted December 23, 2003 Well ,what do you think? You model a ball ,you figure out a way to kick the ball ,give it some fysic's and model a Goal. Ok ,and some lines ,an arbitrary ,a stadium ,T-shirt's of Manchester United ,barcelona ,Milan etc. Main question ,could it be done?
Chris Death 0 Posted December 23, 2003 [b said: Quote[/b] ]Main question ,could it be done? Secondary question, would it be worth to be done? Even if it would be possible to be done (by a lot of work it might be done), would this be a soccer game, worth being played? When i'm gonna play a soccer game, usually i'll go for pro evolution soccer 3, and comparing this to the possibilities in OFP physics and engine power, i would not want to change PES 3 against OFP soccer - sorry ~S~ CD
Apollo 0 Posted December 23, 2003 However ,Such a soccer game is not 1st person ,and AFAIK you can't play it in multiplayer in such soccer games ,atleast not with 22. Have you ever played a computer soccer game where you were just 1 player on the ground instead of controlling the team from above ,and where every other player was human individual played to? Heck ,under the 12 squad size limitation you cans still have a trainer as commander. Would be fun for clan matches.
BraTTy 0 Posted December 23, 2003 Just a note that there already is a ball in OFP and has low gravity and such and you can walk up to it and it bounces when you touch it,its already within the game

Btw where can i get the ball? Then it's just a matter of getting the job done i guess. Not much modeling and texturing needed for the basics of an soccer game ,the work will probably be mostly in coding and animations. Afcourse ,most good coders and animator's are busy though. But if the basic's of the game could be worked ,then the extended models and texture's can be done by somebody else than the coder/animator. Anybody interrested in refining such a addon? Afcourse ,i doubt that the AI will be effective as soccer team ,so i guess this will be an MP addon.
Apollo 0 Posted December 23, 2003 I checked for the ball on the net ,couldn't find it though. But i found an soccer playing field addon made by a addon maker named Zwaddar. Is this person still modelling for the Ofp community? Anyway ,i might give it a go myself to code some of the stuff to basicly get it to work ,withought any animation and few modeling ,to have a base to work from. The ball might come in handy. r1c0cH3T 0 Posted December 23, 2003 You can find the Soccer Ball in Gunslingers Editor Update But I don't suggest you use it, the gravity on its really low. The last time I checked, if you "kick" it, it will fly off the map.
blackdog~ 0 Posted December 23, 2003 you could either modify the ball's config or make an enclosed arena..
Hit_Sqd_Maximus 0 Posted December 23, 2003 There used to be a mission called "Kick the bradley" where you rammed a bradley w/ abrams/t80 (no ammo of course) and when it went into the "goals" one team would score.
One 0 Posted December 23, 2003 a lil off topic, but check out the MOD "DeathBall" for UT2003 - very well done

Just FYI a BTR-80 works better, I have tested this many times before and have thought of it being a good game, but alas... I suck at making maps.
cympatheey 0 Posted December 28, 2003 Heh I was messing around the other day with setpos and I killed a lady and set her pos a weebit above the ground and you can push her around and if you get going fast enough you could stop and she would keep going, maybe if you had like a jeep or something you could do OFP bowling. I dunno setup some other people and make it so when she gets near them it kills them and set there pos above the ground so thay can float away. huh I think it would be pretty easy would anyone be interested in OFP bowling? I think it would be a fun thing to do on the side. /CymPatheeY
mr burns 133 Posted December 28, 2003 lot´s of minigame ideas for ofp here. think i´ll contribute my stupid little idea: a sink the ship mission would be really cool. we surely have enough ships for this and even a sub.  imo the scripting could be easily done and with CoC UA you can even make nice looking battles on sea. i´d love to play something like this but unfortunately my mission editing skills do suck too, maybe more than bd~´s... edit: by sink the ship i mean this.. ..dunno how to translate "Schiffe versenken" else

HuNtA 0 Posted December 29, 2003 k, how about this, a mission in which U have to search all of the sea around Desert island using planes, helis, everything possible to find a lone boat that general Guba is on. Gubas job is to evade the searchersand not get killed. BTW soz I jus noticed this is gettin off topic
