blackdog~ 0 Posted November 24, 2003 Looks like an old chevy, or maybe a pontiac, with the chrome , fins, and bullets. Kinda goes against commie philosophy, duzzent it?-Crew I don't think that fancy cars were prohibited in the Soviet Union. The high-rollers got them since they had the money the people was supposed to have. And yes, these cars did get inspiration from American cars. But if you ask me these old Russian ones are more appealing, I'd take an old Trabant or a GAZ over a chevy any day Then I guess you missed out http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymot....3563360 By the way, Trabants are made out of plastic
GoOB 0 Posted November 24, 2003 You can't import these old eastern block cars to Sweden I am afraid. The exhaust system is too old, it's even hard to get permission to import the newer UAZ's. And yes, the first east block car to have a body out of plastic was the Trabant P70. But I much prefer the P50 wich has a more "old man" look to it.
-33ker 0 Posted November 25, 2003 BTW do you know why it's model name is Trabant 601? because 600 people ordered a trabant, but only one got it. I think we're getting offtoppic now...
