I am shure it will add a lot to missions and OFP gameplay in general.

No other game ever implemented this feature! unclesam.gif

hehe...one of the guys I play LAN with was a medic in the Bundeswehr...so we always stick him with medic duties in OFP tounge_o.gif

off topic but close to the discusion:

What about Armor as well, if it gets hit then there should be a hole there or at least a dent (pending health/armor protection).

Hmm thats interesting, i think maybe it deserves its own thread, maybe it should go in the physics one...i dunno...but a nice suggestion that would be better served in another topic

Well, I have to say something. I have never seen anybody been shot or anything like that, but in a great book Black Hawk Down is a lot of different stories about people getting shot.

A shot to the chest is not always killing, but getting crippled or to be out of everything for a few seconds is possible.

A headshot is not always killing, but it may stun the target for a few seconds/ minutes. Usually after those few minutes your all blood has run out of you.

When getting shot, you may feel the hit (it debends on that how much adrenaline you have in blood), but after that you can fight almost normally.

- Medic.. hey, I'm feeling dizzy... Do something...

- What the hell's happened to you? Call for a med'evac!

- What is it? Just heal it so I can fight.

- You've got a fucking big hole in your chest! Don't move, lie down, calm down...

- Just do something, I will survive.

- Cancel that med'evac. He died.

What about sergeant Smith in BHD. A one shot in the hip, the man stayed alive for many hours, but finally he died in the medic's arms.

I suggest that the hits would look like more realistic, like in SOF2. Then we would be able to have realistic injuries. After that we should have many hitpoints like heart, forehead, neck, arteries. Then there should be more hit "textures" and different hits for different weapons/bullets. After getting shot by a .22 to the head, you may even walk. Not straight, but even walk. An AK-47 or a Browning M-2 may blow your head clean off. Also the other hole, that the bullet came out from, is bigger than the other. Nice realism to the nice game.A good pic about a wasted human head.

I'd like to reclaim this thread for medic enhancements in the next-gen game. What about really beefing up the system so that player skill comes into use? If there were some sort of realistic interface where the medic had to control blood loss or apply bandages, I think it could be really immersive. Good players could stop the blood loss faster just like good pilots can land quicker, don't crash as much. etc.

The thing is, game 2 is looking more and more like a total war sim and less like an inf sim so much so that the developers may not want to spend time on what may be a little used system.

give every soldier pack of bandages for them so the medic (or whoever is there first) could use it to fix the bleeding. in FDF every soldier knows how to control basic bleeding, use bandages and tourniquet and treat shock.

it would be good if any soldier could do the first aid/evacuation part in Game2 and let the medics do the rest with bad cases. this would make it a bit more realistic and give the wounded a better chance to get help quickly.
