Use <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> -mod=BAS;DKMM instead Ooops. I'm tired. Didn't see that. MrZig 0 Posted October 1, 2003 @ Avon. Yes, I only moved my BAS and DKMM addons.. I only have like 300 or so addons (ofp/addons + res/addons together) so I dunno what the problem is.
MrZig 0 Posted October 1, 2003 Yay! I just moved a whole bunch of random files out and it works! Thanks guys (and gals).
MrZig 0 Posted October 1, 2003 Hmm.. I tried putting some of my addons in folders called "random" and "random2" ect, yet it still flashes. Is there a way to compress addons? Or do I just have to delete them?

Don't bother trying. Quote[/b] ]Or do I just have to delete them? Why delete them. Break them up into more mod folders and only start up OFP with the mod folders you need for a given set of missions. MrZig 0 Posted October 1, 2003 The error still flashes. Why does ofp do this? Talk about annoying!!
theavonlady 2 Posted October 1, 2003 The error still flashes. Why does ofp do this? What is the total amount, in MB, of unofficial addons in your failed OFP startup?

MrZig 0 Posted October 2, 2003 What do you mean? Like adding a shortcut with it? Like -mod random;bas;ect ? If so, then yeah I am.
Acecombat 0 Posted October 2, 2003 718 MB for a mod folder??? That might be troubling ofp . try breaking it down.
Lt_Damage 0 Posted October 2, 2003 One of my players has advised they got this error after installing MSN messenger plus. Check this thread for details of how it was resolved.
Dwarden 1125 Posted October 2, 2003 Hmm i got this also on 128 and 256MB cards (and with 16/32/64/128/256MB AGP aperture) that in theory should give 128-500 MB for texture memory ... very strange...
theavonlady 2 Posted October 2, 2003 One of my players has advised they got this error after installing MSN messenger plus.Check this thread for details of how it was resolved. It is not clear to me how Holzy resolved the problem? Did he have to reinstall Windows or simply uninstall Messenger Plus?

MrZig 0 Posted October 2, 2003 718 MB for a mod folder???That might be troubling ofp . try breaking it down. I did break it down, then I just added eveything back to it cause that didn't work
-AIM-Holzy 0 Posted October 7, 2003 Initially removing the add-on to messenger, MSN+, solved my problems. It was definately that causing some problems as OFP would be fine, i'd install msn+ and i would get the error msg, restore to before msn+ and it was sweet. That was until i installed the new BAS island. Yep, you guessed it back to square 1. I did a clean reinstall of XP and installed dx9 and vanilla versions of Ofp...fine.....Res....fine added my addons to res addons....fine.... added addons to main addons...Bzzzt. no go..It wasnt untill i reduced the amount of addons to approx 900MB that i got OFP to work again. I have 1GB of 3200 DDR, 256MB AGP aperture and 128MB ddr on my 9800 Pro. I hope this helps......
theavonlady 2 Posted October 7, 2003 Why don't you divide up your addons by using mod folders (search The FAQ for "mod folders")?
-AIM-Holzy 0 Posted October 7, 2003 Thats cool for single player where you know what missions you are going to do, but what about when you are doing multiplayer? Sure you could use -mod=x;y;z but if you are on a server that has numerous addons is there any way around this except dropping and starting up another mod? And using all of the addons via -mod=x kind of defeats the point.....

Indeed, if you play on a server that expects you to have a gigabyte or so of addons ready at any given time, this would be a problem. Otherwise, however, it wouldn't.
