Sorry, but hes not right, infact hes very wrong, the fact is anything that we have created is our legal property, whether its sold or given for free, and people should respect the wishes of the makers, and if they dont then the various websites should shun the people that try to release these addons, and even talking about addons that contain illegal material is forbidden on these forums:

And an addon containing software that was not given permission to be used by the addon maker contains illegal software, and i would expect BIS and their moderators to act accordingly to any threads about addons containing unauthorized use of another addon makers software.

I really appreciate the hard and good work of BAS, but you should either stop this whole "Intellectual Property" (who introduced this terrible thing?) and copyright discussion or you remove immediately the Ranger/Delta Demo missions since they include COPYRIGHTED music.

Either you stop complaining about people not respecting copyright or you take out any copyrighted music that you are distributing.

In Germany there is a nice saying: "Those sitting in the glass house, shall not throw any stones!"

If the community doesnt start policing people that are modifying or using peoples addon making work without permission then they may find addon makers not releasing work because they no longer feel it is safe, months of work can be thrown away by someone taking the work and renaming it as their own and it is hugely demoralising. All it takes is a quick email to clarify whether something can be used or not, i dont see why this is so hard to do.

i believe u guys have the right to ur addons at n e level....

but repacking?

we love the bas studio

but wouldnt it it be too much of a hassle to ask permission just for repacking

i understand ur policy about the addons like the tonal pack and i fully agree thats its ur right for ur addons not to be changed and then released without getting permission and giving credit

but repacking is just putting all the addons of a mod in a folder

we know the last thing we want is to piss u guys off coz u guys put so much to the community but repacking i believe shouldnt be an offense

but if u guys want it like that then i guess then we have no choice

i beleive it should be standard now in the readme of n e addons of wats permitted, this should be in all AAE to prevent further arguments, we should start a topic of this in the a&m diccussion

and id like bas to start it so every1 can have an imput

Yes, I am closing this topic as it seems to be going nowhere.

Azimut has posted instructions for downloading his pack, so you can download it or not download it as you see fit.

Quite frankly I'm getting sick-and-tired of half the addon threads turning into copyright/intellectual property discussions here lately.

And it generally seems to involve a certain few individuals.

Time for a warning to all involved:

Addon makers: if you feel a thread is discussing an "illegal" or immoral use of your addons, PM a moderator and explain your position and request to have the thread closed, edited or deleted. This isn't to say you will automatically get what you ask for, but we will CONSIDER your request.

Next person I need to remind of this can expect a lengthy PR.
