Dauragon 0 Posted September 24, 2003 i heard on tv that the french police is getting mark 23's for november anyone in france can correct me?
ran 0 Posted September 24, 2003 mark23 ? i doubt so , they're to get the Sig Sauer P220 (not sure) , to replace the MAC50 pistol and Manurhin Police F1 revolver as issue weapons specialists will either keep their PAMAS G1 (or any weapon they have) or choose to get the Sig -edit- : the french police forces will get the Sig Pro 20/22 , if anybody could find pics of it .... and btw , it's quite stupid to choose a swiss/german weapon when our only arms manufacurer remaining , the GIAT badly needs contracts (about 5000 employees will be dropped due to a restructuration plan) and GIAT got the correct answer for a police pistol : the PAMAS G1 , which if it was produced in mass could equip more than a few units of the Gendarmerie and a few police operatives and would fullfill the needs for most of the tasks required by any police job but well .... ran 0 Posted September 24, 2003 well , seeing the size of the contract (260.000 guns) , it has to be a Sig Pro
shadow 6 Posted September 24, 2003 well , seeing the size of the contract (260.000 guns) , it has to be a Sig Pro Hehe if they were issued MK23s they'd have 'em sometime around 2015 or so seeing as how few are produced a year The MK23 would'nt suit as a carry weapon anyway. A Tac is more apropriate as that They would have ruined their own economy too by buying that many MKs too
Maraudeur 0 Posted September 24, 2003 well , seeing the size of the contract (260.000 guns) , it has to be a Sig Pro http://www.sauer-waffen.de/news/english/release.html This, plus the new uniform... I thought we could use money elsewhere but... Anyway, I would have prefered the HK P2000 instead of the SigPro. @Ran : I believe the PA MAS G1 was over any possible choice because of its frame way to big for most female officers, and even some male ! *heee, is the Gendarmerie going to wear the same uniform than PN ?!? First stage to get one police force according to EU directives, as in Belgium ? ? *

ran 0 Posted September 25, 2003 gaaaah .... can't help myself , i'm french with italian blood , sorry but if physical criterias have been lowered to get people in the police forces , then they should do with what they get and if they can't carry a beretta copy , well , too bad for them  , but if i was the  chief of the PN's equipment department of the interior minister , i would first give the priority to national industries , especially is the only backdraw is the impossibility for physically weak people to carry the weapons in their hands for more than 5 minutes or without letting it fall on the ground because the stock is too big for their little paws the place for these women in need of recognition and so called "men" is behind a desk , and behind a desk , you don't need a gun
