dkraver 1 Posted December 20, 2001 Just testet the improvments on the LGB and they works really good now, and are hitting what you aim at. And there also some kind of counter showing when plane is close to target Great job BIS (Edited by dkraver at 11:30 pm on Dec. 20, 2001)
colt 0 Posted December 20, 2001 Regarding the counter; What does the text say? I keep getting a bunch of numbers and " error" in the top left. The game works perfectly though and it doesn't cause any problems.
reaper 0 Posted December 22, 2001 It doesn't work for me. The A-10 just flies over the target, I get the counter that says time to impact, and counts UP? The A-10 will never drop the bomb. Once he did make a straifing run at the target with his cannon, and hit the ground. Thats with his skill slider maxed out.
MP 0 Posted December 22, 2001 I agree Reaper... I have yet to see the A-10 LGB drop a bomb in v1.40.
Atreides 0 Posted December 22, 2001 What I have found is, when you first laser a target, the a10 must find the target then you must tell him to attack it, or target it. I have noticed it will take several passes before he will drop a bomb. Sometimes he'll drop it after 2 passes, other times, it will take 10. Defanitly something that should be fixed in the next patch.
Damage Inc 0 Posted December 22, 2001 OFP crashes to desktop now when I use the laser designator.
dkraver 1 Posted December 22, 2001 this is how it works when i do it. when plane sees laser target i do a target laser target from the target menu. Then do a engage from the engage menu. Then it fly away turns and comes back for the bomb run where it only releases one bomb thats directly on target. Done this with multiple targets and it worked every time. i havent figured out how to read the numbers yet but must have some kind of meaning to it. So try the above to test if it works. Will probely also work if you do open fire, engage at will fire at will and then target but havent tried that yet
uzabit 38 Posted December 22, 2001 The Developers have put something in that the A10s only throw bombs if there's the chance of an 100% hit. It works fine.

Mr ThunderMakeR 0 Posted December 22, 2001 Anyone having problems with the joystick in 1.40?? Using my joystick slider for a throttle (which is what Ive always done), I cant get the jet up to full throttle anymore. The fastest take off speed I can get is 150 m/h, which isnt enough for takeoff in the a10, not sure about the cessna or the su25 though. Also, if I start out in the air, its just barely enough throttle to keep the jet in the air. If im maneuvering though I eventually lose so much air speed that I crash. Kinda sucks because now I cant fly a jet at all, since Ive never been able to use the keyboard and now I cant use the joystick grrrr......
vitoal125 0 Posted January 15, 2002 I believe I know the meaning of the counter up top. It changes with how fast your going and heading to target. When It is close to zero, drop the bomb. the error part will tell you the approximate x and y distances the bomb will hit from the target. That way if you release early, you know where the bomb is going to go.
Mig pilot 0 Posted January 15, 2002 man it does not always hit target but when that thing hit it kewl to watch m1a1 flying around

FetishFool 0 Posted January 15, 2002 Hey, do I HAVE to have the A10s apart of my squad? Or can they be seperate? The A10LGBs work when I tell them to target the Laser Target. But it has never worked for me while the A10s were in their own squad. And do I ALWAYS have tell them to target the Laser?? Can't they just figure it out. hollywood 0 Posted January 15, 2002 They don't have to be part of your squad...made a mission where you just sit on top of a mountain and let a bunch of A10 (in their own group) decimate an armour concentration before you move in. Although the A10s certainly don't carpet bomb the area they do, over time, do a hell of a lot of damage with the LGBs. It seems the most frequent bombing is acheived by painting the target, calling it out, then calling it out a second time (as 'laser target xxxx'). As soon as the numbers in the top left start heading rapidly toward 0 it's pretty likely that the A10 will bomb the target.
