Tomcat_CDM 0 Posted August 26, 2003 There is a strange bug, i had made a mission using a mod. On my PC works fine, also if it's execute using multiplayer mode works fine, for me and players. However, when i put the mission on a dedicated server (1.91 / 1.92b) the missions hangs during load time an then crash the dedicated returning a msgbox saying "Invalid Texture Aspect: 16x256". -)a)( 0 Posted August 28, 2003 I had a similar problem man months ago which i can't remember anymore. My mission worked fine expect on a dedicated server. There was an small error in the description.ext, which only crashes the dedicated server. I tested on diffents computers (OS, hardware), always works fine, only on dedicated crash. Please, give it a look. Maybe you are right, but description.ext only have Respawn = "group"; Respawndelay = 4; The mission is very simple, since was for testing purposes. Thanks. Theres a limit in the maximum aspect ratio that certain 3D cards accept... Afaik. in 3Dfx cards 8 is the limit, and the dedicated server seems to do a check for that for some reason. The addon that makes dedicated crash is SA 330-L Puma in Heli Pack 1 from Campania de Malvinas MOD. Helo Pack1 http://www.cazadoresdemonte.com.ar/varios/staff/Final/Pack1-Helos.rar (maybe needs another addon from beta2,just maybe) The error is that dedicaded crash giving an 16x256 ratio texture error msgbox, we can change it, no big deal with it but is a bug on dedicated since on client multiplayer nor single player works fine. Well, this is not exactly true. Glide clients would not work well with this. I understand this may be not interesting any longer, as there are probably very few Glide clients out there (if any at all), but it may give an explanation why is this happening. I do not think we will fix this for 1.9x release. Off course, no such limitation will exist with OFP 2. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

5133p39 16 Posted December 30, 2005 i bumped into this problem with the police version of Mi-2 (i don't remember who created it) and i has been forced to depbo the addon, find the bad texture, and resample it to 512x64 (it was a ?fan?/?airscrew? texture). Good news is, you need to do this only with the addon which resides on the server, you don't have to publish this altered addon to all the clients. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
