There is work that need to be done, like, ground texturs need altering, some land scaping, road alining and srubs adding.

Bugs I know about and plan to fix

1. in the stadum you can walk thruow the wooden wall at the top.

2. some sters are in the rong place and need moving over

3. The main hotel no added yet, it is being made again as it was crupted when old pc went down.

The models will be made in to a seperat PBO for use in Island making AS SOON AS POS

It also has very big hangers, you can fit a C-130 Hercules in  :lol:

Actually it looks like UK to me, at least much more than Somalia, otoh I've been to UK but not Somalia so I don't know.

Cool. It looks like he's trying to do a football court. Now all we need is a working football and we could play true football online . I hope he adds a scoreboard; Liverpool vs Manchester Utd 10-0, would be realistic I think ;).

No no no,this is actully ment to be somilia!if u read the site a bit more carefully its another island he is working on witch is ment to be a recreation of the UK.

At least i hope this is right becuase i live in the UK and it dosent seem to look any thing like this island hes released so im guessing its ment to somalia.

If you take the trouble to download, you'll find it IS a city in the middle of a desert, with passable arabic buildings, and quite a complex city, at that.

But it's nothing like Mogadishu.

Hijacker, if you want a playable urban environment, you got a winner.

Well after seeing that football field I know which map I look forward to .

Realistic or not, I don't think he's going to redo all the streets of Mogadishu. I think it's fine the way it is. There was another decent Mogadishu, Somalia map, but I think this one is better because it has a working airstrip and has that beautiful looking football stadium (a first in OFP). Also the streets are laid out very nicely and most of the buldings are customized to look like buildings in Somalia. The city lags a bit, but not too badly. The only downside is that there is a lack of bushes and rocks out in the desert which kinda sucks... it just looks way too plain. I wish he threw in some rocks and stuff in the desert. But I think that once the Olympic hotel is complete and once some rocks and bushes in the desert are made, it'll be a kick ass Somalia map at least for those with fast computers. Add a few Little Birds and blackhawks however and things slow down badly. This one will definitely need "spawn" scripts for the Somali gunmen to keep the lag to a minimum... the tricky thing however will be to figure out how to make the spawned squads to go particular waypoints. If anyone makes something like that, I hope they post it on the mission editing section of the forum.

Anyways overall this is a great map in my opinion.

But for those with slower computer, the old Mogadishu map is much better frame rate-wise.

I noticed my mistake. I thought that football stadium was in the English countryside map. Until I saw the horrible desert.

Please put a stadium in the English countryside. Though you could attempt something bigger. Anfield perhaps <g>.

It would be great to fight in those nice green rolling hills. Pity there aren't any British troops to use on it .

I think I've seen that "hunter" script but I don't remember there being any spawn capability in it.

Anyways, recently a nice script came out for spawning groups that randomly patrol an area around the spawn site. However I'm not sure what's the best way to have them respawn... I could make it when all the East side die, they respawn... the problem with that is that there is ALWAYS some stupid AI soldier that gets stuck in a wall or somewhere and who is hard to find. Then there is a timed spawn that spawns a new group ever 5 minutes or so... but the danger there is that since they just patrol randomly, alot of them may end up all over the map and not where you want them...and thus they may just build up and introduce unnecessary lag.... I tried to figure out how to modify the script so that they follow the same waypoints every time they spawn but I haven't figured out how to do it. If anyone figures out how to make such a single player spawn script, they should forward a demonstration mission to the maker of this island so that he can include it as a demo mission. That would help alot of mission makers.
