Okay Guys hope you have fun with the Beta 2 beacuse it will probably be the last one. We, the German Airwolf Mod have come to the decision to quit our work on the Airwolf addon collection. Because of problems with the "Airwolf-Mod -The original one-" Team, because of similarities in our addons to their addons and insults and defamations on their forums we lost the fun working on the mod. Best wishes and succes with their Mod to Tomasz Sopylo and his Team. Keep up the good work!

At last I want to say:

Stay fan of this great series and wait for the great addons of the original Airwolf mod.

Their Homepage: Airwolf Mod -The Original One-

Greetings C.H. Moffett

ps. all download links will be closed soon.

I feel damn sorry for that, and wait for mails by fans.

Ah, it's a shame these things happen, and especially if they end like this sad_o.gif

Great work Airwolf mod, and I hope you didn't lose your joy in addon making overall, cause what you've released is pretty damn good work.

Its not very often I have post on here, but I will in this case. Its sad that it seems to be nothing more than a competition between mods, with one trying to get along, and the other doing nothing more than saying "ours is better", but I have yet to see anything from them except attitude, and nothing to back their words up.

Keep up the good work. I've been impressed thus far, and am happy to have at least ONE Airwolf to fly.

The people who did this should be ashamed of themselves. I for one feel nothing but pity for MOD teams or modelers that have to attack others work to elevate their own.

Another black mark for the community.

I have to say, that Paul really told something he shouldn't - he is young and pretty rash but, those 'insults' weren't groundless indeed. I didn't wanted to come with that to publicity and I wanted it to stay between our and german mod, but It seems I have no other possibility now, and I have to explain ourselves, and explain some things that are behind German Mod's decision.

1). Our Mod started it's life in January 2002. I and Paul joined together to work on Airwolf Mod.

2). In summer or early autumn 2002 Lord Ragnarion started to work (or at least showed off some info) on his Airwolf for OFP - Markus Trosky (DarkSchakal) was in his team.

3). Lord Ragnarion finally decided to shut works on his Airwolf down for some reasons, and in January 2003 - DarkSchakal came to us to ask if he can join our team - he agreed to agreement we presented to him, and he joined our team.

4). He gave us some scripts as his work (he didn't told that those scripts were just ripped off from other addons).

5). Somewhere in March 2003 RedWolf asked us if he can join our team - I asked him if he can show me some of his work (he said he already made some Airwolf missions using OH-58 as Airwolf) - but he couldn't do that because obviously it was a lie and an ineffective way to join our team.

6). Early in April 2003 I received some suspicius mail from other guy - Daniel Kern who is team member of German Airwolf Mod - the mail contained some part of mine cpp file (no one but three members of mine team had access to this file and it was pretty obvious that this part of file came from mine file) - he probably sent it just by accident...

I've asked team members if someone sent it to the other team - no one confessed.

7). Later in April 2003 german airwolf mod started to work on their Mod - team's leader - RedWolf, they've used Airwolf model abandoned by Lord Ragnarion as a base, some improvements were made by superb addon maker - Martin.

8). When I unpacked the RANAirwolf.PBO file I couldn't believe my eyes - some of the files were ripped of directly from mine Airwolf Addon's PBO (why I'm so sure that those were really mine files - well, I prepared them with mine own hands, and even CRC checksum was exactly the same), I'm not even talking about scripts which were almost exactly the same (but scripts could be from the times when Markus Trosky was working together with Lord Ragnarion) - obviously other team stolen the files from mine addon (as I told before - no one but mine team had access to this addon) for their own purposes.

9). I asked mine team members again If anyone gave our addons to other team - no one confessed. I also sent lot's of e-mails to people engaged with German Airwolf Mod - including Martin and Lord Ragnarion, asking how mine files appeard in the RANAirwolf.pbo addon. Some of people (including Martin and Ragnarion) told they don't know nothing about it. And other - including Redwolf, Daniel Kern and Axel told that it was Markus Trosky who gave our addons to them.

10). I've started to ask Markus Trosky if he did it. He didn't confessed. I continued to ask him about it, then he said, he sent mine PBO file to the other team by accident... In the mean time other team told me that Markus is working with them. I became suspicious about this 'accident' and asked Markus about it once again - finally he confessed, he gave the files to other team intentionally.

11). Redwolf's team agreed not to steal from our mod any longer, agreed to remove our stolen addons and agreed to play fair - in exchange I didn't gone to public with info about this insolent act.

12). Because Markus accepted the agreement when he was joining our team - it was pretty obvious he will be dismissed from our team. But I gave him opportunity to choose for himself - he's staying with us and he will no longer collaborate with the other team or he's leaving - every other team member of Airwolf Mod (Original One) agreed to that, and he decided to stay with us - everyone agreed - every member of our team forgived him.

13). Next day - Markus changed his mind - he is leaving, but he can't tell why. I respected his decission and told him that MOD's door is open and he can always came back.

14). Now Airwolf Mod released it's beta 2 - maybe there is no file which is directly ripped of our addons, but some things are still not right - some scripts are almost identical as the original Airwolf Mod's scripts, and some ideas were directly copied. And it appears that Markus joined their team and giving away to them our original ideas - ideas which were told to him when he was working with us and we trusted him as we trust every single other member in our team.

That's the true story about German Airwolf Mod, Airwolf Mod, the conflict between two Mods and something that the German Mod calls as 'insults' - as you can see it's not only about competition here. It's about stealing ideas, material, files and addons. I can't agree to that, even if I'm working on this mod only because I'm enjoying it, even if it's just for fun. There are some things that I can't handle, and one day I can left the OFP scene leaving unfinished projects behind - even if many people are waiting for them.

I'll leave because of some guy who prefers to use mine addons/files as his own - not giving a single credit to me or not asking for mine permission.

I hope we have a clean hands now and the case is closed once and for all. Community doesn't need more incidents like this.

Greetings.

Obviously theft is a whole different matter, thank you for explaining to us.

I retract my original statement, after hearing both sides their is alot more going on then what was known to the public.

rock.gif This makes a lot more sence. And my apologies from just that. I as guess the old saying goes: "Theres two sides to every story" and I didnt wait for the other side.

Still though, I would be interested to hear German-Mods reply to this situation. If it is true, then that opens a whole different side to the story here. Competition is one thing, theft is another. Only silence will tell.

I agree that both sides should have kept all of this private, between themselves, and not out in public on the forum. I'm not taking sides, but the whole incident is very unfortunate. Yes, model and addon theft is a very nasty business, but geenrally better off trying to be dealt with privately instead of publically.

It is also unfortunate that there seems to be a core of particular addon makers (again, not naming names or taking sides), that seem to be more prone to being involved in this kind of thing than others.

Does OFPEC or anyone else have some kind of addons in progress register (maybe submitting partially completed files to be held in trust) where these kind of things could be kept in check by a trusted thrid party? Maybe it could help avoid some of these situations...

To bring this to an end I´ll tell my point of view now.

I worked for the Airwolf mod when I was contacted by Redwolf leader of German airwolf mod. When he asked for help I started making some improvement´s to their Airwolf Model, because if someone asks me for help and I don´t have the feeling he intends something bad, why not?

So i started working on their ADF-Pod becaue I didn´t look at him as enemy and I still think competition keeps the addons quality at high level. When Redwolf asked me for some Airwolf footage I send it to him, unfortunately I mailed him the mod files of the Airwolf Mod too. That was an accident but also my fault. He kept the files(who wouldn´t have kept them???) When Airwolf beta 1 was released et contained some sound files of original airwolf mod, build in to test config of our Airwolf, but forgotten to take out. After Tomasz wrote Redwolf an email about this we closed our download links and removed the files. We apologised for that and still feel sorry. When Beta 2 was released all files of Airwolf Mod had been removed. We thought everything would be fine now, because all “stolen†files had vanished.at the time of beta release 1 German Airwolf Mod contained some People who wanted war, those elements have been removed some time ago.

I don´t mind Paul being rude on the forum, cause I can understand this. I also got to know him as a nice guy.

I still feel sorry for the things that have happened and I´m fully responsible for that and that´s the reason I left Tomasz team. Please leave out the other guys cause they are my friends.

People make mistakes, so did I .

Hope everything is said now

DarkSchakal

I'm not a modder but a user and fan of the Airwolf serie's.

And I want to thank's the modder of RAN Airwolf because it's a great Job. I play with it all days since two month and I don't see a real default. The only that I could say it's about the top reactor that are too angulous and the colors, some time too gloomy. There are probably some script from the Airwolf of Airwolf mod, but the chopper is not the same. I'm sure off it. The guns are perfect, like the design off the chopper (in particular the rotor). The sounds are good. The gears are correct (good size and bend) liket the design of the pilot.

NB :When I use the AI, the Chopper don't retract the gear and don't use the guns...Could you update the mod?

Finally, If I understand the AirwofMod Team to avoid a stole, other team can bring good idea, good mod and creation and complete the works of the first team. For exemple, the AirwolfMod don't want to make RedWolf (AirwolfII). So, I ask to the RanAirwolf Mod : Would you want too create RedWolf?rock.gif Please.....

I try to build some small mission for me with this excellent MOD. For exemple, I work on "Airwolf vs Airwolf" but the AI don't retract gears and don't open weapon to use it! If the MODDER, or any other, read this, can they tell me what I must do (what script) to reach my objective :

AI must retract gear and use gun of AI_Airwolf.

Thank's.

Xavier.

Call the animation script addon contains by the external commands (same which are included in the config.cpp file), eventually you can trigger it using triggers, waypoints etc.

It's OK. With the good advices of Tomasz we can now use the AI capacities of the Airwolf...

You must write in field activation of a way point for exemple:

[Name_chopper,0] exec "\RANAirwolf\Scripts\wolfanim.sqs" to obtain gear_up.

[Name_chopper,1] exec "\RANAirwolf\Scripts\wolfanim.sqs" to obtain gear_down.

[Name_chopper,2] exec "\RANAirwolf\Scripts\wolfanim.sqs" to obtain retract gunpod.

[Name_chopper,3] exec "\RANAirwolf\Scripts\wolfanim.sqs" to obtain open gunpod.

[Name_chopper] exec "\RANAirwolf\Scripts\turbo.sqs" to obtain Turbo on.

Xavier (& principally Tomasz)

Nice screenshots, but for future - please don't post screenshots of the (Original) Airwolf Mod's units together with the units of the other (German) Mod. We don't wish to be misleaded with this 'mod'.
