hellfish6 7 Posted June 19, 2003 Last time I posted a site, I got banned. It had a vid for an AC-130 gun camera footage, amongst a lot of other things, and the powers that be decided that it violated a board rule... which, in all honesty, it did. Even if the people were little green blobs.
Jester983 0 Posted June 19, 2003 oh ive seen that. Well i just like training stuff. Nothing like blood and guts. Maybe a firefight but no one getting hurt.
hellfish6 7 Posted June 19, 2003 The ARCENT website had some vids of Operation Anaconda - specifically the air assault into the valley. You are huddled down with a command element and hear firing in the background. Kinda cool and totally bloodless. I did a search of the CENTCOM site, but I didn't turn anything up. theavonlady 2 Posted June 19, 2003 Last time I posted a site, I got banned. I don't think you got banned for posting the site. You got banned for either explicitly linking to that particular video or mentioning that the video was available from that site after mods had tabood the video itself. In ensuing discussions, the mods generally agreed that a site does not become illegitimate unless its theme or the majority of its content is contrary to forum rules. Otherwise, you couldn't post a link to Reuters because they occasionally have gory news pics. So............. go ahead and post the link. Go on! Don't be bashful! Seriously, if there's a mod in the house, please confirm the above and I'll post the link just as well.
ralphwiggum 6 Posted June 19, 2003 The AC-130 movie decision was made due to the graphical nature. You could say that it's just some pixels, but in fact, the people getting bombed were actual people. In no way I endorsed AQ and Taliban, but somethings are better not released to public and at least here, we will enforce it. In ensuing discussions, the mods generally agreed that a site does not become illegitimate unless its theme or the majority of its content is contrary to forum rules. Otherwise, you couldn't post a link to Reuters because they occasionally have gory news pics. that's a very loose understanding. Any site that contains picture, and link to it will violate forum rules. One way that this rule was not strictly enforced was during the major battles of recent war. Since most news media already had some disturbing images and videos, as long as the person providing the link gave explicit warning, we would not go after them too harsh. however, now that major battles are over, such action would result in PRs. please do not post replies here, since there is a thread to discuss such matters. cam0flage 0 Posted June 19, 2003 For some vintage action I suggest you search archive.org for some old US propaganda films. They have some very good videos of nuclear detonations in Nevada etc.

I think the fact that people thought that it was funny(on other sites I've been to) personally disgusted me. It's just retarded how someone can find personal enjoyment out of the destruction of another human being. What people don't realise is that death is death, no matter how high or how "green" your vision is, and that every human being is equal. I think it was a BF1942 forum. However, it was my first visit and it was my last. I would not go to a forum where people defended the idea of watching the people on the ground being vapourized in a ball of fire. Oh well, you'll meet that sort in the world wide web. I found this link at Popular Mechanics, so I'm sure it has no explicit in it. http://popularmechanics.com/popmech/movie2/2HMOMILP.html You'll need quicktime though.
