Hit_Sqd_Maximus 0 Posted June 17, 2003 Rise of Nations is an RTS game for the PC. Players begin with a small state in ancient times and reach toward the present times, building a nation through conquest, diplomacy, trade, civic and scientific development. Using standard settings RoN can be played in well under an hour. You can play the game very similar to a regular RTS game, or you can play a version very similar to the board game diplomacy were you have to conquer the world(not just europe). Capture supply centers to get another army. Other territories with out supply centers have resources to help you get an edge over the other players(steel mines to cut the cost of vehicle manufacturing). It is also possible to buy/sell territory to other players in exchange for currency or you could demand currency in exchange for not attacking you for a certain number of turns. When playing the diplomacy version and you decide to take over another territory the game turns into a regular RTS game and your tactics on the battle field determines wether you obtain the territory or not. Supporting armies are reinforcements in the game. Rise of Nations Does anyone here have it?

red oct 2 Posted June 17, 2003 i like it but, its got some bugs in it. but a little modifictationsof the ini file and desktop bit depth and than it'll run fine. other than that its a pretty nice game. they for once made a game where nuclear weapons that would cause some real dammage. i like the armageddon feature too, great way to prevent people from going crazy w/ nukes. The ai doesnt have a problem doing that though SFG and I just got finished playing a game against a moderate AI and he did nothing but launched nukes untill the mission ended.
