CoolCarlos2002 2 Posted May 26, 2003 I thought that if there were multiple gunners, i wondered how the targeting system would be ? right click on as much as guns there is so you have like 2 targets max if 2 guns , 3 targets if 3 guns etc.. and they would progressively be right clicked and on 4th click if 3 targets it would say "No target" Just a thought
Eviscerator 0 Posted May 26, 2003 Wrong forum Should be in the OFP2 Suggestions section.
CoolCarlos2002 2 Posted May 27, 2003 its not a suggestion its a question about something that will be in OFP 2 according to BIS
VXR 9 Posted May 27, 2003 maybe every gunner on a helicopter or so has its own targetting.
CoolCarlos2002 2 Posted May 27, 2003 maybe every gunner on a helicopter or so has its own targetting. Or bis programmed the gunners to automaticly shoot important targets such as AA's etc...
Major Gripe 0 Posted May 27, 2003 I might be being naÄve here but could it not work with the current system? For example in a helicopter with gunners on either side if you tell them to engage the target and only the left hand gunner can see it only he will fire unless you turn the chopper in which case it will be the right hand gunner who then engages. For multiple gunners you could use a system like the F1, F2 system to tell them to engage.
dm 9 Posted May 28, 2003 Work it like the current system: 'F2' 'LMB over target' "2: Target xxx at blah" 'F2' 'LMB' "2: FIRE!" 'F3' 'LMB over target' "3: Target yyy at blah" 'F3' 'LMB' "3: FIRE!" Or, as a combo: 'F2' 'LMB over target' "2: Target xxx at blah" 'F3' 'LMB over target' "3: Target yyy at blah" 'F2' 'F3' 'LMB' "2, 3: FIRE!" Kinda like the way it works now? no? And it keeps it familiar - no need to learn yet another combo of keys...
CoolCarlos2002 2 Posted May 28, 2003 And i like Deadmeat's idea sounds good Would be cool if you asked the right gunner to shoot someone on the left and then the right gunner says "Turn Chopper 76° east" just a simple thought

nyles 11 Posted June 3, 2003 Hope they include an option to turn off targeting for m/p games I second that. Targeting is really annoying when facing human enemies. It makes it so easy to target non-visible units like infantry in woods. They should implement a proper thermovision and nightvision device for units that are equipt with them and the rest should have to spot the enemy to be able to engage them. Period. Jinef 2 Posted June 5, 2003 I like the idea of no targeting a lot, but keep it as option for young uns. I would like to see OFP as friendly as ever to those who are new but with the ability to scale up so your only friend is your rifle and you need to know what your about otherwise your dead. nyles 11 Posted June 7, 2003 Well, I just hope they manage to make something like this. Yeah, I know, it's a mod for BF, but a PBR with multiple gunners is simply a must for ofp2.
