Long 1 Posted April 16, 2003 Remember the days when Satchels Soundaddon came out? It was great. Is there any chance to run it on 1.91? or, does a newer exist for 1.91? There are some Soundaddons, i know, but most of them are WAY behind the first one (M60 sounds bad). Any suggestions?
theavonlady 2 Posted April 16, 2003 I'm running Dynamic Range 1.90 with 1.91 without a hitch. Download from this page at AtWar.

Long 1 Posted May 6, 2003 Thx, got it. Ok, next (really really stupid) question. Looks like i put it into the wrong folder, no new sounds. It is now in c:\ofp\res\dynamicrange shortcut in Icon is C:\ofp\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE -mod=DynamicRange Btw, tested in editor.

munger 25 Posted May 6, 2003 Put the pbo in Res/Addons and the config.bin in Res/Bin and get rid of the -mod extension. You can use DR in multiplayer; you'll just get a 'player is using a modified something something subdivision' message. Don't worry though, I've never been on a server where they've cared about this. PitViper 0 Posted May 6, 2003 I am going to release another version which changes the ak74 and m16 to the new improved default resistance versions.. I'll probably throw the source code up too. BTW, I recommend keeping it as a mod. I'll probably do a custom icon too. Anyone know an installer flexible enough to create those folders and a modified icon? mr. Duck 0 Posted May 6, 2003 How about changing the code a bit to make everything more realistic? I mean the armorvalues and stuff, I did it too once but I think changing my config too much had a bad effect on my flashpoint since I get these weird things (the cop can't move no more, pistols are useless and stuff). benu 1 Posted May 6, 2003 PitViper: Please please please, if you make an installer, make a zipfile too. There are many players out there who like to decide for themselves how and where to install things. It's a pain in the ass when an installer puts files somewhere without telling or even puts entries in the registry (bw-mod for example). And yes, i do rename my ofp dir before starting installers so they don't mess things up, but it's clumsy compared to simple beautiful zipfiles... BTW: Is there any possibility of getting rid of that subdivision message?
BAM 0 Posted May 6, 2003 I personally use the original Project IGI AK47 and M16 sounds in my editted DynamicRange as they rule. I have no experience with editting the config.bin file, but if you released the source I would be very interested in trying to add all of the Medal of Honour : Allied Assault sounds to the DynamicRange.pbo, along side the existing sounds, for added randomness and variance in sounds for things like bullet whizzes, hits, etc... the MOHAA sounds has so many great sounds of this type (bullets hitting various surfaces such as wood, metal, sand etc...) and I have already replaced some of the DynamicRange sounds with these and the result is nice. BAM.

pang 0 Posted May 8, 2003 i´m a fan of this soundmod since the first day it came out. you gotta love the sounds.  just one thing: pit, would you be so kind and make a reticule fix for the mod, so guys can keep the original reticule? bam, i´d like to check it out. got any webspace where you can host it? BAM 0 Posted May 8, 2003 I too, would like to see the original aiming reticle back. I remember there already being 2 versions of the DynamicRange addon one with new reticle, and one with the original, but the new cross reticle still appeared in both! Whats the score with the 1.91 dynamicrange config.cpp , is it gonna be released, and if so, can someone give me a hand figuring out how to add extra random sounds to it? I have the great MOHAA sound files all on my hdd just waiting to be added to OFP... Help me make it happen!! BAM;)
Wright 0 Posted May 8, 2003 Bam, If I could get ahold of a cpp version I could probably help you add in more sounds. It's been quite a while since I messed with it but I think I remember how to do it. Shoot me an email if you ever get it in cpp version.
munger 25 Posted May 8, 2003 I haven't tried it but I'm pretty sure if you just added new lines to the original list of 'options' for a particular type of sound (e.g. heat explosion), leaving everything the same except for the new sound file you wanted to add, it would work. Here's an example: soundHit1[]={"\DynamicRange\Explosions\heatground.ogg",100.000008,0.800000}; soundHit2[]={"\DynamicRange\Explosions\heatexplosion2.ogg",100.000008,0.800000}; soundHit3[]={"\DynamicRange\Explosions\heatexplosion3.ogg",100.000008,0.800000}; <Insert your new sound here with same details as above except for ogg name> Edit: not sure if this makes sense or not. Let me know if it doesn't.
BAM 0 Posted May 8, 2003 Hey guys, thanks for the offer of support and suggestions on how to do this, it looks nice and straightforward - just need the 1.91 config.cpp now and im ready to roll! Pang: Im only on 56k and have only a small amount of webspace so unfortunately it wouldnt be practical for me to upload my editted DynamicRange.pbo, however, if I ever get the MOHAA sound thing sorted out, I will make it my mission to get somewhere to host it so that others can give it a go! Satchels sound mod totally transformed the atmosphere of the game for me and if there was even the smallest bit I could to improve it further for the community then im all for giving it a shot:) BAM:)
theavonlady 2 Posted May 9, 2003 Folks, please coordinate your efforts so that we don't have 3 or 4 variants of Satchel's DR Sound Pack. That would be a pity.
zayfod 1 Posted May 22, 2003 I just dled the DR sound pack--its fantastic. If anyone has a copy of the dynamic range config.cpp for resistance version 1.90 floating around I would love a copy Its just for my personal use and I dont intend to publish the pack in any altered form. I know I could extract the DR config.bin with OFP manager but I dont really want to have to install all the microsoft net software as well. pwetty pweeze? Â Please email it to me via tab below. o BTW Im a professional post sound engineer if anyone wants any help with any sound file editing. I run my own studio.
