A frontline War Correspondant and Camera crew could be fun to have to Embed in your squad!! Great for clearing antipersonell mines too....

This would open up many possibilities. confused.gif

Hey, those folks, including some friends of mine, are out there in the Iraq putting their lives on the line just so dipshits like you know what's going on in the world.

They're in a war zone, unarmed, doing something they believe in -- informing the public. In the current conflict, their casualty rate is higher than U.S. and British forces. Those journalists are a lot braver than you. So show some fucking respect.

johnnylump: You should edit that post before you get PR'd.

Back on topic...

I like this idea and I wouldn't mind if the jounalist was playable so I could watch the battles take place.

Well, you could make it so that if they are killed... mission is over. Or you could play the journo and try to get as close to the action as possible.

A TV camera would be a great addon.

Or you could be a Journo Spy, and lase targets with your "Camera".

I just want one to hang out next to me in my squad, to pass me ciggarettes and ask me questions about holistic philosophy while I empty magazines into the enemy....

I think it's a great idea.

The journo could hold the camera (big camera) on his shoulder like an AT launcher, or hold a smaller camcorder like a pistol.

Maybe you could even script the camera so that when you "fire", it takes a screencap.

As for what purpose it serves - it would add great atmosphere to missions, and could even be part of the missions itself - say one of your objectives is to ensure the safety of the media crew.

Other addon to go with this might be a female reporter with a microphone, sound man, a media van with a satellite dish on top......

yeah, you can set the script that when it fires it makes an real screenshot(like oxpecker said)but you've goth to put an screeshot-teek-thingy-program in the map of the addon.
