Alt-tab does not work!

Recommended Posts

I 'm having problems Alt-tabbing out to the desktop while playing V1.90 of OFP Resistance. I have updated GeForce drivers and DirectX9 but I still get the double cursor problem.

when I hit alt-Tab the first time and then again to get back to the game, everything is fine but when I'm working with scripts I need to flick back to notepad, I can't do this because whenever I Alt-Tab again all I get is the Windows cursor in the editor and no matter how many times I Alt-Tab the desktop and the game do not return and I'm forced to hit the reset button on my PC.

My GFX card is GeForce4 MX420.

i had a similar problem, it was when ever i ALT Tab'd. For me it was because of having it in 1024 X 768, Changed it to 800 X 600 and i could alt tab all i want. When i reformatted windows i could run it in 1024 X 768 no probs,

i use a GF3 ti200

Hmm, I guess I could lower the desktop res to 800 X 600 just when playing OFP. It does work , smile.gif though it takes a few seconds to change from one to the other.???

? Alt L does nothing, and why would I have to log in, log into what?!

I've also found clicking the mouse on the bottom of the editor window sometimes brings the desktop back whe it's stuck. crazy.gif

I think he meant Windows-button + L which makes you go to the switch users-screen of Windows XP (in case you're using XP). (Don't know why that would help though.)

Your Flashpoint resolution has to be higher than the Desktop resolution and it will work again.

my settings: Desktop 1152x864

Game 1280x1024

GFX-Card is a Geforce2 Ti, DX9, Detonator 42.68.

How do you run OFP in 1280x1024 without serious slow down?!? on a GeForce2?!?

I've got a GeForce4 MX420 512Mb RAM and 2Ghz CPU and in 1024x768 I have to lower some terrain detail and view distance otherwise it runs like crap.

Anyway, I'm using a desktop res of 800x600 whenever I play OFP from now on.

A GF4 MX is the poor mans version of the GF4, comparable if not a lesser card than a GF2 TI. Mr Frag will correct me if I'm wrong smile.gif

Placebo is correct, the GeForce4 MX series is actually a step down from the GeForce3 in some respects. The MX cards have always been targeted at the budget-conscious consumer, and as such, features had to be cut to get a lower street price.

Specifically, the GF4 MX cards have only two graphics pipelines instead of four in the GF4 Ti series, lack the programmable T&L engine of the GeForce3 and GeForce4 Ti (InfiniteFXâ„¢), and run with considerably slower core and memory clock speeds. The GeForce4 MX420 has less than half the memory bandwidth of the GeForce3 Ti200.

Given a choice between a GF4 MX and a GeForce3 Ti200, I'd take the latter.
