killagee 0 Posted April 7, 2003 I know there are a few people out there making them, but they all say soon soon! We have heard that for months. I seriously need some LAV's for my NZ troops. Or maybe a surprise would be nice...
CanadianTerror 0 Posted April 7, 2003 You wont get a proper working LAV with the current version of OFP unless a work around is found for a few game engine issues. This is why Operation Northstar's LAV/Coyote havent been released although they have been done for ages.
suchey 0 Posted April 7, 2003 One of the varinats without TOWS could be made I would imagine.
hellfish6 7 Posted April 7, 2003 GalComT is making LAVs to go with his new desert pack. They look pretty good, but there is only so much you can do with the OFP engine. Go here to see the pics in the news section.

coporal_punishment 0 Posted April 7, 2003 Hi I'm with the Austrlain Defence Force Mod. We've made a Lav but with the craptacular engine we havn't released it. We will hoefully release it soon and then fix the zooom issue when OFP fix it.
CanadianTerror 0 Posted April 7, 2003 @Quaker You are saying that your's actually works 100%?

But for the other versionms (LAV25 and LAV2C) yes they workj 100% in game
CanadianTerror 0 Posted April 8, 2003 The Centauro doesnt work...thats kinda the point. But...ok.

CanadianTerror 0 Posted April 8, 2003 So there are no hatch/view problems on any of your LAV's? Yes, I know the thing fires. That was just one issue.

killagee 0 Posted April 8, 2003 I wish!! My NZ troops are very unrealistic. I use the BAS Ranger Soldier, with a New Zealand Flag on the Shoulder. I also arm them very unrealistically!! I dont know how to take screenshots to post. how would I do this?
coporal_punishment 0 Posted April 8, 2003 Wouldn't it be better to use bimbi's british soilders because arn't the NZ and British cammo the same. but we got the zoom problem with the gun. Can that be fixed and it if can how. Well the best thing we can do is work with the Canadian mod (Operation North Star) and release the best addons we can. I'll contact North Star and see what they think.

Actually I don't really know but I think it might not work .But the hatch*view problems dosen't matter that much anyway!! *EDIT* I was thinking, wouldn't it be possible for us to make just 2 rotations anims (for the hatch) and the soldier so that it works just like a normal OFP tank ? CanadianTerror 0 Posted April 8, 2003 All these issues for the LAVS have been discussed for months in the ONS forums. You might want to pop in and talk to Sigma as he has already encountered them all. This was from one of his posts... </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">...won't be able to use hatches, turn in/out, or use any of the views, and that the gunner will only rotate side/side, and not up/down unless the proxy is slaved and always visible.<span id='postcolor'>

Wick_105 0 Posted April 12, 2003 few things, Â 1. the muzzel flash from the lavs 25 mm is Y shaped. 2. I hve never seen a lav with a tow attachment...it would just look ugly. sorry for the bad typing.....to much barlypop
Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted April 12, 2003 both variants can't be made for OFP. Sucks big time!
CanadianTerror 0 Posted April 12, 2003 Powerslide is working on a possible script that might work to get the LAV working properly. so, it "might" be possible. I guarantee that no one else's was going to work up to this point from what i've seen. EDIT: If it works "a bit" or it "kinda works", that's not exactly a good addon. It's an engine issue and no ones fault but so far, it's still an issue that no one's solved.
Wick_105 0 Posted April 13, 2003 ok... my bad....are they in service with anyone or just showmodels, I know GMof Canada have pumped out crap loads of different models...but in the field I have only seen lav-III's in three different mod's standard apc, recce vehicle(we call it the coyote), and a FOO vehicle...but being canadian, we dont get the really cool stuf that the yanks get
CanadianTerror 0 Posted April 13, 2003 The Coyote is "reall cool stuff" and the yanks dont have one.
