Shashman 0 Posted May 5, 2003 Could someone post a point by point list of the differences between the Marineflieger Tornado and the Aeronautica Militare Italiana one? Obviously apart from the colour scheme  Personally I prefer the Italian one as the camouflage is better and because I am half Italian  *EDIT* Could we possibly have a sitrep on the RAF Tornado? <>Crippler<> 0 Posted May 6, 2003 I've been playing around a bit and have done this- nearly finished in fact, its not that good, but theres hardly any RAF aircraft out for flashpoint, so I thought I'd have a go. Â

chris330 0 Posted May 6, 2003 Personally I respect the work of any addon maker and i think that anyone who is ungrateful is either jealous or just another spoilt freeloader in a game community with an incredible wealth of talent made available for free. I liked every single picture of every single tornado (yes ALL of them) posted in this thread. Personally I dont care about colour schemes military correctness or any of that shite. They all look fantastic. If you dont like them try making one yourself (and you might get an idea for how hard addon making is and thus how fortunate you are). acidcrash 0 Posted May 7, 2003 your point being.....? its the same airframe, they are the same aircraft, only some grease monkeys have taken the old kit out and replaced it with new kit (dumbed down somewhat, but you get the idea) another example only a GR-1 this time example

nolips71 0 Posted May 7, 2003 all i was saying as that with that shade of blue (apart from the nose) it looked more like a tornado F3
miles teg 1 Posted May 7, 2003 Can anybody from G8 give us a sitrep on the status of the RAF Tornado. One thing that nobody has mentioned is that the RAF ground attack versions don't use the MW-1 submunitions dispenser but instead use the JP-233 submunitions dispenser which looks a bit different but performs in a similar fashion. With that said, I'm not sure if they still use that as I think they have a stand off version now called the Storm Shadow although I'm not sure if it's operational yet or whether the RAF purchased that weapons system. Another really interesting RAF aircraft that would be cool for OFP is the Jaguar. This aircraft saw alot of action during the first Gulf War and is a very interesting looking aircraft. Here is a good page for pictures and information on the Jaguar. http://www.aerotechnews.com/phtoarc/webphot/Jaguar/Jag.html Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
<>Crippler<> 0 Posted May 7, 2003 The RAF have stopped using the JP233 now (I think maybe dropping anti-personnel and anti-runway minelets and bomblets creates a lot of bad publicity and maybe the requirements for its use just arent there anymore). I've kept it on my tornado model anyway though mwahaha. The storm shadow stand-off missile isn't in active service yet I dont think I agree someone should make a jaguar- with the sidewinder pylons on top of the wings Crippler
dm 9 Posted May 7, 2003 The RAF no longer use the JP233 as it drops, among its sub-muntions time-delay and anti-personal mines, that were banned by a global anti-mine treaty in the mid 90's. In fact the RAF loved the weapon system, as it was a highly effective airfield denial system. But because of the laws, we can no longer use it. The Storm Shadow is now in operation, the first firing "in anger" was by a Tornado GR.4 (all other versions of the Tornado are not capable of firing this weapon, as they do not have the necissary software or hardware support for the weapon) during Operation Iraqi Freedom, on March 21 of this year. So go ahead an include it. Over 30 of the weapons have been fired over the operation. So they are well and truly in service
<>Crippler<> 0 Posted May 7, 2003 lol that shut me up I dont think I could put a storm shadow on my GR4 -I dont have a model for one and besides, I'm not sure how useful it would be ingame anyway- a long range stand off weapon would be pretty much useless when the ranges in the game are so relatively small. coporal_punishment 0 Posted May 7, 2003 The tornado is like the only UK aircraft admired by the US, the US got so jealous with the aircraft that they had to shoot one down so its a dam good aircraft esp. with the runway deniel system.
