Guest Posted February 26, 2003 I am wondering if it is possible to change the colour of the haze that OFP has....you know, how things get a bit grey towards the end of your view distance? What I would like to be able to do is change the colour of this for a particular mod....so editing any resource/config.cpp/bin files etc is fine. I have had a long look through, but can't really find any values (I'm guessing it's not a texture ) that seem to refer to it....and I can't read Polish either. So does anyone (hint...someone from BIS) know where these values are, what they mean and how to change them? Also I would like to be able to do the same for Fog. Again, the same questions apply or are they getting their colour/alpha values from the same place? This would really enhance the look and feel of the mod...make it far more immersive for the players. I am sure a few people would be interested in doing this for any TC mods. Thx in advance....

Jamesia 0 Posted February 26, 2003 red haze would be good. Or maybe blue fog  Im sure it would be possible with lots of scripting
Guest Posted February 27, 2003 No...it wouldn't be possible with scripting as far as I can tell. That would be using a drop array type of thing.....very CPU/GPU intensive, and wouldn't look right. I'm thinking it is a core define buried somewhere in the guts of the game...just 3 or 4 numbers that can be changed. What it would be possible to do with this is to change the look of the game....ie Winter island where the haze is more white, desert island where the haze is sandy/brown, australian island where the haze is that particular colour (Gum tree oil vapour on hot days....if you've seen it you know what I mean) etc etc etc......see what I'm getting at? suma 8 Posted February 27, 2003 Fog color is determined from sky texture - from the color sky texture has near horizont. I am afraid there is no way to change it via scripting.
Guest Posted February 27, 2003 Thx Suma.....I guess that means the only way is to change the sky texture then... *pulls out photoshop*

edc 0 Posted February 27, 2003 You could make the sky light reddish, and make a Mars map, and then you could fight Martians!

Guest Posted March 3, 2003 If anyone ever needs to know the name and location of the sky texture, here it is: Jasno.pac in DTA/Data.pbo There you go. And it works a treat. Pity .paa and .pac are such compressed formats
