Milkman 1 Posted February 11, 2003 Hmmm no clue, although this should have probably been posted in Mission Editing & Scripting.
Mister Frag 0 Posted February 12, 2003 Whether a vehicle floats depends on the vehicle class. A car cannot float.
OxPecker 0 Posted February 12, 2003 Didn't someone make a monster truck with huge tyres that floated on water?
joltan 0 Posted February 12, 2003 It should be possible to keep a vehicles height always at >=0 - so a looping script correcting the altitude might do the trick...
Bullz_eye_on_my_back 0 Posted February 12, 2003 if the monster truck floats... it is probably because the tires are sooooo huge that they touch the bottom of the sea floor... since i've heard that it is flat... so I'm thinking make some huge huge huge tires...that can't be seen...and once it hits the water then they stop being unhidden..... and have them rotate down and touch the bottom to drive ? Bullz_eye_on_my_back 0 Posted February 12, 2003 maybe thats how we can have floating airplanes??? since the landing gear and everything could be hidden in the airplane.... have two sets of landing gears?

walker 0 Posted February 12, 2003 Hi all The existing jeep in OFP cannot float its config.cpp property </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">canFloat=false<span id='postcolor'> As has been mentioned you can script to keep the altitude of the object at 0 to -1 say but this is clummsy and will lag the game on slower machines as you are constantly setposing the jeep. Do a search on setpos in this forum. There is a better solution Yes you can make a version of the jeep that floats You can make an addon of the Car Class with the config.cpp property </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">canFloat=true<span id='postcolor'> Within oxygen there are properties such as weight distribution that need to be balanced so it floats at the right angle and ground contact may need altering. Kind Regards walker
Dark Knight 0 Posted February 12, 2003 u know the harrier.... well the VTOL script they use is well it lets it float... i have tried this script on a jeep a tank even a boat.. and u can move about aswell.... cant remember where i got it from tho... sorry
Marss911 0 Posted February 12, 2003 Tnx walker the "Jeep" is floating. Only not good a but bend forwards. How can i work on that? tnx for the help. Marcel
Frugo_PL 0 Posted February 12, 2003 As walker said, you'd have to use oxygen to edit the model of the jeep... However, since the original models are encrypted, you can't edit them. The only way is to find the old demo, extract the model from there and use the current config.cpp with CanFloat= True. Then you'd have to edit the model using the Oxygen tool and edit the wieght distribution.
