I forgot what it was... think of movies where there are napalm strikes guys. Blockbuster may solve your question smile.gif<span id='postcolor'>

I would prefer genuine footage , stats or photographs.

Most movies use gas or similar for special fx, so the look wouldnt be accurate enough.

Or maybe it would.

What program did you use to record from VHS? I have TV-Out and I can record from comp but I don't know how to record from VHS....

by the way, great Napalm! You could make some cool Vienam missions.

Ever heard of the FRAPS utility that is used to do frame rate counts in OFP? I heard from a friend that it can also be used to record movies from OFP (he tried it and it works). Check it out if you want to make movies easily.

Bye,

If you have VIDEO IN on your card its easier. If not you will need an adapter of some sort to enable you to record via SVHS or COMPOSITE video input.

There's a few apps out there for recording the mpg. Ulead do one, Adobe (the best).

I used InterVideo Wincoder to record it, and then WinProducer to edit the track and save it smaller.

Here is how I would do it. Attach my computer to the TV via S-Video cable from teh GFX card. Then I would record it to a MiniDV camera and from there I would use firewire to record it using the Windows XP Movie Maker 2.

The movie was "Apocalypse Now" - after they get under mortar fire from the woods (the scene with the famous AirCav attack, when the commander has his boys surfing while the fighting is still going on). There's also a napalm bombing to be seen during the closing titles of the movie.

BTW: How's it going? The napalm bomb and the new rotor downwash effects are (besides the A-4 by Col. Klink) the two things I most desperately wait for to be published!

"Apocalypse Now" isn't a good example; that was a special effect, and a botched one at that. The first couple of charges go off fine, then all the rest go off simultaniously.

The best (worst) example of a napalm strike caught on film is the real botched drop by the South Vietnamese Air Force on the village of Trang Bang. It may be around on the web, but linking to it if you do find it would probably infringe forum rules.

I have actually finished the downwash script.

It is with Tigershark now, although I will ask him about it today.

Status of napalm is kind of in limbo while I decide what course to take. At the moment its a good explosion effect. I have held back from developing it into a napalm effect with a spreading and burning effect for now, primarily because there is not, I dont think, (1) a decent vehicle capable of dropping napalm.

(2) An actual napalm canister/bomb addon.

If anyone has seen the A10 with human missiles addon, we could use the same thing for a plane with napalm bombs.

Ideally for the SEB NAM pack this would be a skyraider, but AFAIK there isn't one in the works.

At BAS we are concentrating on getting the Deltas/Rangers out ASAP. Maybe after that I can see what is planned from STT for future NAM releases...........

Actually, the aircraft that was responsible for the majority of CAS work south of the DMZ was the F100 Super Sabre:

Hopefully soon.

I've been after a Fire-Bomb for a while now for my A-6E Intruder (these were used in Nam and right upto the end of Desert-Storm).

So if someone can help me with the scripting for the bomb when it hit's I'll model the bomb and attach it to the Intruder.
