Wiki 1558 Posted July 28, 2019 Why Contact is not like other DLC? I mean, for the other DLC, we didn't need to activate them in the launcher and we could play to all missions and campaign. With Contact, I gotta activate it in the launcher, but when I reach the main menu, I can still play the scenarios from the WS but can't play the campaigns nor the showcases as they don't appear. Why Contact is different from other DLC? It's kinda weird.
Antilochos 106 Posted July 28, 2019 I was wondering about that myself.
zimms 22 Posted July 29, 2019 Because it's not just an addition to Arma (new assets etc.) but also changes several game mechanics, it's more of a conversion. But yeah, technically it could be handled like other mods I guess.
Dedmen 2703 Posted July 29, 2019 Because the alien assets themselves don't fit into the game. So they were kept seperate.
ThePointForward 2 Posted July 29, 2019 Well, the part of Contact that is like rest of DLCs actually is like them. You don't have to load it manually. The checkbox is essentially for the Campaign as there's some fairly heavy background stuff and for the extra assets that are not fitting for canon Armaverse.
