-SWAF-Lunatic 0 Posted December 20, 2002 I have a really bad problem with opfp r, i know it has been included on the faq, but the faq solutions dont help. The game keeps crashing, no its not a copy! Yes i have the latest via hyperion drivers(if you dont know what these are and you use the 4 in 1 drivers, you need to update ) Detonator 41.09 Latest audidgy drivers. It is really starting to bug me, as i can play for anywhere between 5 to 10 mins, but the game crashes back to the desktop for no apparent reason. If anyone has any ideas please please help ME!!!! No opfp for a week, my life is in ruins (well not exactly) Happy Xmas all
philcommando 0 Posted December 20, 2002 I had the same problem as u. not VIA hyperion though. I did everything and download every patch from windows and via. NO USE! I went into safemode, into system and disabled the universal serial host and my cable modem. Reboot and ofp worked fine but no internet. When i want to go online, i go into safemode, enabled back the serial host and modem. Been going on for sometime and gonna change to intel instead. Point is - " NEVER EVER BUY VIA PRODUCTS!" Sorry VIA but millions of users faced the same problems i did and all u did was bicker around that its windows who own the drivers rights are at fault while windows says its driver files worked fine with others and cash paying small people like me are left stranded with a product that did not deliver its promises. Cheap products are never good, but good products are never cheap

-SWAF-Lunatic 0 Posted December 20, 2002 Avon, if there was one place id go to try and find a solution, it would be your faq, ive been looked tried and none of it worked Ive tried the faq on this forum as well, and the only thing i can come up with is fade, but i know i have an original copy. The only problem I had was when I tried using my desktop resolution in OFP (no problem in other games though), switching to a higher resolution while playing solved that. I had a lot of crashes with other driver versions, and as the 41.09 drivers are non-WHQL I really recommend trying older driver versions.
hovmand 0 Posted December 20, 2002 Is it only ofp:r that is crashing?
Mister Frag 0 Posted December 20, 2002 [sWAF]Lunatic, can you give us some detailed system specs?
Guest Posted December 21, 2002 I don't know whether this will be a solution or not but a friend of mine was having a problem where any CPU/GPU intensive Open GL game was crashing after running for about 3 minutes. We went troubleshooting, reinstalling....everything. What was the problem? Bad case design....the Power Supply was sitting too close to the Graphics Card....causing it to overheat and cause a shutdown. So if all software troubleshooting fails....check the temperatures of your CPU/GPU
acidcrash 0 Posted December 21, 2002 sometimes simple is the answer, did you try a fresh install of OFP? you'd be amazed how many problems that fixes for me (so come on LT, stop making excuses and get back on server so we can kick ur arse )
