I'd suggest that perhaps Arma is using the same port/s as TS.
-
Non of them, the 8000 series has major problems at the moment with ArmA.
-
It's also not Gravity, Gravity is the effect which causes it. It's the acceleration due to gravity (g) g=9.81 m/s^2, as was correctly stated earlier, is due to your distance from the centre of the earth, so if you jump at the top of everest you will jump higher than if you jump as Sea Level (in theory and all factors being the same, mass carried etc).

/Rant on First off, i really cant belive my eyes......"dont give bis crap, they are only trying to fix it". I'm sorry to say this is obviously what people now expect when a new game is released. Â What a sad state of affairs for the gaming community. Â You can now pay 40 quid TO BE A BETA tester for buggy software! Cmon guys, if you bought a car as buggy as ArmA you be at the show room 7 days a week demanding a fix or your money back, and you certainly wouldnt buy another car of the same make in the future. We need to get back to the cause and the remedy. Â Software that is as buggy as ArmA, is nothing more than BETA, it is BIS' fault for releasing it too soon and the testing department for letting so many huge faults go un-noticed. /Rant off

I too suffer from the same issues, and have to agree that ArmA was rushed out the door way too soon. We have all paid good money to be beta testers, but i read a review that said it builds on OPFP was good had potential but is too buggy. So my bad!

nVidia problems-For the love of god please help!
-SWAF-Lunatic replied to Sp00d's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I know youve stated that it isnt heat, but that screenshot definatley looks like artifacts gained from overclocking. Also try underclocking the card to see if that fixes it, if it does then your card is fubared. -

try a later driver version, those for the 8000 series are reporting fixes for the 7000 series in the changelog. I take it your on Vista DX10, try the 158 series drivers, its worth a try. -
2nd Beta 1.07.5157 feedback thread
-SWAF-Lunatic replied to INNOCENT&CLUELESS's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
yes... 1.07 does not work with addons  if you can believe that It does work with addons, but the class has changed so the addons need to be reworked into the new method. (From Suma) For me i still get the lod when i reload a mission, then it gets worse, the better, then worse......random! However on a positive note my CTD's have gone fro now! -
Error: Cannot Create 3D Device
-SWAF-Lunatic replied to Student Pilot's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Any Nvidia/ATI with dedicated memory should work ok. When you start looking at shared memory the performance drops considerably. X700 or the go series 7000+ would all work. My hint to you though is read the specs on the box! -
Suma has already stated that ist an Nvidia issue with the 8800 drivers, they are working with nvidia on the issue. And if you read the release notes with the drivers you can clearly see that hundreds (not just 7) of games work excellently, yet some require specific changes in a driver to ensure full compatability. The Nvidia graphics driver is very complex, so much so that nvidia cannot iron out all the bugs, untill new software exposes an unidentified issue. Here is an example • GeForce 8800 GTX: Elder Scrolls: Oblivion–animation is visible through the trees when HDR and NVIDIA Control Panel antialiasing are enabled. [296265] Fixed in 158.18

Getting the same CTD on loading or saving. Random as... When a game crashes i can usually resume from the point of crash, also some randon ArmA has stopped working. Graphics driver has stopped working, and needed to restart. I would love a stable ArmA to play, just frustrating. High level of detail with beta patch?
-SWAF-Lunatic replied to bruun's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I fully agree with Troop! -
This is not an ArmA issue, but a creative/microshaft issue. creative are attempting to get true EAX back with ALchemy a programe that converts D3D sounds to Open AL, it is reported on the ALchemy website that it works for ArmA, but is unconfirmed. Does ArmA use D3D or is it OpenAL from the start?

-SWAF-Lunatic replied to StormbringerGT's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
What you are reffering to is the LOD bug, most 8800 users suffer from this. Please use the search function and you willl get two good pieces of advice that will render the game playable, but not truly stable. -
