Df2 like opf?

LOL.......Sure.

In DF2 the AI is dumb, all vehicle movements are scripted, you can't drive in the vehicles, and the weapons behave very unrealisticly. (I can kill someone 300m away while running and firing a weapon from the hip on full auto.)

OFP is by far the best tactical infantry sim ever made, when it comes to outdoor environments that is. Sure it isn't perfect, but what game is?

This is a tough mission. I cannot figure out how to beat it.

<span id='postcolor'>

...well let me help you.

1) You have to get to the hill that overlooks the camp (you may want to avoid or kill the guards along the way; there are 2 patrols). Get to the hill where the guard tower is that overlooks the camp. You need to crawl in the tall grass but be careful for spikes which will kill you.

2) Set your weapon to single-fire and use your scope to sniper pick off all the soldiers running around. Shoot the guards in the towers first. Shoot the guards on the boat, then shoot anything that moves in the camp. Crawl around and change positions to avoid getting hit but stay prone.

3) Use your grenade launcher too to neutralize the guards. Do not launch any grenades on the tents because you may kill the officer.

4) When you shoot everyone you can see, slowly come down the hill because there will be a few at the bottom of the hill. Kill them.

5) Go to a tent, and the officer will be there to surrender.

Actually in Delta Force 2 you do not fire from the hip, you look through your iron sights, press F2 to see 3rd person view.

This isn't easy to see in 1st person view...

Ever tried running at full speed while trying to keep a rifle in your shoulder?

My point remains the same, regardless of how the rifle is held. I can't count the number of times that I was shot while sniping by some idiot with a SAW running across an open field firing 100 round bursts, 300m away.

Besides, cheaters have ruined the MP in DF2.

Hehehe, can you guys enjoy playing non realistic games? Or does every non realistic game suck?

smile.gif

I can't agree more on that last thing, cheaters really spoiled it all...

Well DF2 is still pretty realistic despite a few minor things like your running speed for example and no weapon view.

Plus, they have animals in the game, like birds and penguins.

Hmm, is it possible to shoot the animals? I havn't tried that.

OPF could have animals if they wanted to. I mean they do depict sea gulls in Multiplayer.

Not to mention that the music in DF2 ROCKS!! And it fits in the game by not really being in the game when you are playing. That would be unrealistic.

We have dogs!!!! biggrin.gif

Static ones though but that will change with the new animations editor.

And about the animals in df2. Yes, they can be killed.

Sure it is, back in the old days, whenever we saw a bird flying by, everyone screamed: BIIIIIRRD! and then all of a sudden, about 4 snipers, 7 m4s and 5 saws would shoot at that bird smile.gif

They die fast, one shot is enough if you can aim well.

Penguins can get shot down, but i cannot remember if they really die like the birds.

Penguins were some of the most shot things, a penguin looks a lot like a sniper lying prone when you're looking at it without binoculars or a scope...

Yeah, those animals sure suffered a lot!

Did you ever try pulling a fast one on someone approaching you with a knife underwater and pull out the underwater pistol and shoot them before they reached you? tounge.gif

BTW, the new Vietcong game has knives. Last week I went into a DM server and knifed as much as possible before being shot.

I wish someone would host a Vietcong knives only server game. smile.gif

Yeah those pirhanas suck, it's possible to knife them but there are just too many of those.

I always sniped and especially as a sniper water is very handy to move unseen, as long as those stupid pirhanas don't attack you!

Swimming was great smile.gif

Man i really hated it when that happened, just when you think you're gonna knife someone they pull out that stupid gun and kill you...

I also tried diving with one of those divingsuits and an underwater gun but those guns seriously suck...

One of the greatest things was when someone had been playing as a diver in singeplayer, so when they start a multiplayer game, they were still wearing that stupid black diving suit and that horrible gun.

During normal levels this wasn't that special cuz black clothes aren't that easy to see, but when playing levels with snow i always had a good laugh while shooting these guys with their giant flippers when they try to reach the armory before being shot by my M40 smile.gif

Nothing beats seeing a black diver with his huge flippers running on white snow towards the armory smile.gif The best part is when you shoot them right before they enter the armory! Hahaha, yeah i sure enjoyed sniping, when you're a good sniper you can have great fun like that... biggrin.gif

Boy, i sure miss those days...
