Johan_D 0 Posted December 2, 2002 Hi, I managed to get units to a marker set up in the editor. But I want to set a marker during runtime on the game map, and radio a team/unit to goto to that marker.. Is this possible? and how? Johan

Johan<span id='postcolor'> If you look at the bn880 page below I created an MP version of what you are asking for. It uses dialogs to move the markers and radio to call in. You can grab what you need from there. Essentiall you need to place all strategic markers on the map before hand. If this is unsatisfactory, click on the CoC banner below. There you will find a complete/extensive command engine. It is rather complicated though.
Tales_From_Topographic_Oceans 0 Posted December 2, 2002 bn880: did you know Albert Einstein was a pacifist? He would have prefered a game of puzzles over OPF. That said, he was a genius nonetheless. Please see my thread on choppers. I assume the invisible "H" is a marker?

I assume the invisible "H" is a marker?<span id='postcolor'> In short I do know he was a pacifist. Although you can judge a book by its cover most of the time, there are exceptions. You can not know for sure he would not prefer OFP to a game of puzzles. If you have not noticed, the OFP engine has alot to do with freedom and much more complicated puzzles than a game of puzzles. The number of ways in how a battle can turn out, the strategies used, the freedom in participating, and the Artificial Intelligence involved is actually quite interesting. If you look on the Chain of Command banner below and check out its members, you will see we are not war mongers, I repeat, we are not war mongers. I believe that war would not be something any of us would look forward to, and a lost war even less. I am enthusiastic about how Computers are able to simulate battlefields, Arificial Intelligence, mathematical equations, and physical/chemical expriments. Furthermore I belive software such as VBS1 is useful to Policing agencies and peacekeeping forces, which have different goals than war. And if you have not noticed, I discourage people in the forums from joining the military voluntairly... there can be exceptions, it is not an open and shut discussion. Tales_From_Topographic_Oceans 0 Posted December 2, 2002 computer programming is all mathematical; he would like it. I like OPF because it entertains me. I don't want to get too off topic here and invoke the moderator's wrath but war is a good thing. Countries are created and conquered through war. Most countries exist today as a result of a past revolutions or rebellions. There is a time for it. It is a fact: people cannot live peacefully. I think the UN is worthless. The purpose of the military is to kill people and break things. <yawn> have a nice day. I am tired

You don't know what tired is. If you want to discuss the military and wars dig up the topic on the role of the modern soldier. This is indeed the wrong place. Johan_D 0 Posted December 3, 2002 Hmmm.. while asking for markers we turned to mr Einstein.. It work flawless with markers set in the editor, but not with markers set during runtime, meaning in the game. I tried to give the marker the same name as in the commands, but no luck. At least now I can command with the radio's to get another squad to come to me for help. And thats needed in Nam.! Bad is that the leader comes first, and then the team will follow.. they dont come all at once, even when I refer to their teamname.. but I can live with that.
