chammy 7 Posted November 19, 2002 Will it help prevent the game from crashing back to Windows desktop?Because that's what it has done now that I had installed Resistance. It never use to do that untill now. Before I would have to run OFP several times to get the game going and sometimes it would totally lock up when I try to save.I have tried the 1.46 patch and even tried to find new drivers for my CD rom.I even tried what the Code Masters support page siad to do but to no avail. Now it never gets past the Code Masters logo.It just flashes then it goes back to the desktop and I end the day unfufilled. Then I crawl into a corner to die,which,...err,..hasnt happened yet,...which is,uh,why I am still typing this...of course.Thank you. Mister Frag 0 Posted November 19, 2002 You may want to post the specs of your system if you expect a more meaningful response than the last one...

chammy 7 Posted November 20, 2002 Well I looked for all that Avon lady said and I found when I went into Properties in My computer, and went into Device Manager,I noticed something.I saw next to the "CD rom controllers"device, and there lists 3 of them, there were exclamation marks by all of them.It goes like this: ! Mitsumi CD Rom controler with Double Speed Drive. ! Mitsumi CD Rom controler with Newer Single Speed Drive ! Mitsumi CD Rom controler with Older Single Speed Drive Should I remove some of them? Mister Frag 0 Posted November 20, 2002 I would remove all of the devices that aren't functional (have a red X or yellow exclamation mark next to them) because they will probably mess up the SafeDisc engine. You should still have one fully functional CD-ROM device listed in Device Manager.

OFP 1.75+ needs a better machine than the old 1.46... Puh... I had one of these in my old 386... didn't know something like that still existed!
chammy 7 Posted November 20, 2002 Well I tried that also. The puter works fine still but the game will stll not go any wherre. This all started to happen once Resistance was installed.I think there's a conspiracy.I think Code Masters made a bug on purpose for amusement.Nah,just kidding, but really, look at all the problems this new add on pack created.I must have a bad file or something in my computere.I am thinking of re-formatting.Hate to do it. KaRRiLLioN 0 Posted November 21, 2002 Just remove all CD Drives in the Device manager and let windows re-detect them. Â If you really have a single speed drive, then I'd like to know at what antique store you bought it.
chammy 7 Posted November 21, 2002 LOL.Thats was right funny Marrillion.Well it was listed as a driver so I don't know what speed the CD rom or CD roms are.You see,I had a problem earlier when my computer froze and when I went to restart my CD roms were'nt functioning or detecting the discs. So then i tried to lok for the other drivers for it.Those are the ones I picked.I don't wish to go into the registry and I tried the System Restore option but it still hasnt fixed the problem. So when wil there be a patch to fix that?WHo knows. And the 1.75 ,something like that, didn't work. (crys uncontrolably)
