basic, modern day soldiers.... umm, what do you think came with regular ofp? looks to me like basic, modern day soldiers. amazing!!

I agree the ofp soldiers look nothing like the ones we see now. Im surprised that there is isnt even a ranger addon. There are some good modern marines out there though.

The soldiers you see in OFP have a real mess of gear and are carrying almost no personal equipment. They aren't even wearing body armor. So my guess is that they are rear echelon troops or they are configured for the direct assault role.

they definately look like soldiers about to assault, like theyve just dropped off all their gear, we definately need some properly modelled soldiers, and not just american, last time i checked there were 150+ countries on this planet, so lets have a little diversity....

Well last I checked there are ton of soldier addons for other countries: Israeli, Finnish, Swedish, Polish, Pakistani, Indian, British (with some more good ones on the way), German (the excellent HK and BW mod troops), Italian, ect... ect...

So please don't say that there are no other foreign troops for OFP. However it would be nice to at least see some proper U.S. troops. The only good ones out right now is Frandsen's USMC troops which are just awesome. There are no high quality modern U.S. Army troops at the moment aside from maybe SEB's Delta Force addon that they made a long time ago. For example some nice U.S. Army Special Forces and 10th Mountain Div. infantry troops in modern desert fatigues, equipment and body armor, would be really nice... maybe also some CIA paramilitaries wearing Afghani clothes but with sunglasses and carrying other American gear.

I have seen some picks of some upcoming units of this type, but so far they did not impress me too much as they either were very unrealistic, or they had other problems like feet and hands being too big and stuff like that.

A few of the GR mod units actually come close, but likewise they have some problems.

We also need new Russian troops. There are no modern Russian infantry addons out right now. It would be nice to see some new Spetsnaz units for example, where they're equipped with heavy body armor, those funky looking assault helmets, or black watch caps (like some of the units in the HKmod).

there are lots of foreign troops, but out of all of them how many are modelled the way this thread is describing? maybe the HK pack has a couple that do it properly...but there is definately a need for properly modelled modern troops, you mentioned modern russian soldiers, hopefully there will be some in Ballistics upcoming russian project, along with modern transport helo's and modern AFV's

i can say the same for my country (England), and i have no 'aside', you could mention some old addons, but they are based on ofp soldiers, which are wrong for modern soliders

I asked for the same thing before, but unfortunately few are interested in making such mods mainly because there are simply very few American mod makers and understandably a lot of skilled addon makers prefer to make infantry addons for their own country. I'm not saying that none of them make American addons, but just that few make American soldier addons.... only the vehicles if that usually.  I tried messing with Oxygen myself, but right now what little free time I have from Grad school I use to make missions which is where my skills lay in OFP.  

Currently only Ballistics and I think Frandsen is making such modern American units. SEB is doing some Vietnam era soldiers but I don't think they have any plans on updating their Delta Force addon.  There may be one or two others but so far only the Ballistics mod looks promising but Evi, correct me if I'm wrong, I believe they are only doing a Delta Force unit addon correct?  It would be nice if they did a Ranger and 10th Mnt. Div addon addon as well... and hopefully with modern camoflage and not the older "chocolate chip" desert cammo uniforms of Desert Storm (which they stopped using shortly after the Gulf War).

ballistics is making rangers too, we also got sent all of bibmi's modern us troops as he wanted to concentrate on the brits, so theres also green berets, not sure but i think theres a couple more too, and its being debated whether to do the choc chip or 3-tone, there will probably be both versions

im sorry but i see no real fucking problem with writeing in all caps, wait its not even writeing its TYPEING! because you know writeing involves a pencil or pen and you make hand movements that make out words and letters? yeah maybe you guys should go do it sometime

Perhaps you see no problem, but the fact is that it makes the text difficult to read and is against standard netiquette since it is the equivalent of yelling.
