Is there a site that has an official or reputable-unofficial listing of the world's special forces, and their positions as far as their status/ranking in respect to the other special forces goes? No reason really, just interested.

I tried "specialoperations.com" but it wasn't very good. Naturally I became very insulted because it didn't feature any norwegian units So I present one here: the "marine hunters". Here is a video (choose isdn-option):

There is also another unit called "Forsvarets Spesialkommando" wich is supposed to be even better - it's also a counter terror attack unit and recruits personell from the marine hunters and others.

belgium had many speciazl forces in hte past, but now only paratroopers(since the late '90).But plans are made to activate the special forces again.

Oh and some parts of that movie are just a bit too fake, real action is a lot cooler, but it's a pretty good movie...

rwanda and burundi used to be german colonies before ww1.

I have been in barracks down there that still stemmed from german times. and brought some german and belgian coins from colonial times. (they had rupees there! )

I have a rwanda video too... it's not for the faint of heart though.

oh, and just ignore everything under the US Air Force special forces. they dont count lol jk. there are a lot of elite units around the world, and each one is great at what it does. regardless of nationality, it takes a special person to be a special operator, and every one of them should be commended.

actually, the ministry of defence sells beer to the nation and with the money from those sales they pay their soldiers.

you also run into all kinds of checkpoints manned by drunken youths down there, they're smiling big, toting their gun and ask for a buck.

if you don't give them anything they let you pass anyway.

I'm very grateful to the french embassy which handed out ID cards, substitutes for passports, that said "ministry of foreign affairs of the republic of france" on it in large letters.

the bums mistook us for some official french hotshots.
